Great Speedrun! It's amazing to see you have managed to score so many back-to-back WR's within the past few months. It's crazy! About 8 years ago, a player called CotySA M. released segmented speedrun's of SCCT and SCPT and I honestly believed it would be the beginning of a speedrunning trend. There wasn't much action after that - I would occasionally search over the years to see if there were any active speedrunners but struggled to find any. It's wicked to see you have broken the dry spell and frequently upload new speedrunning content for the Splinter Cell series. I am very thankful the KZbin algorithm remembered my search history and put your regular uploads into my suggestion feed. Your playstyle and entertainment factor had me hooked right away. Keep up the good work!

Got to love these speedruns fit splinter cell or stealth games with strong combat music for a stealth game. It's also funny and feels free of that annoying quickload when you get spotted

Instead of following the missle into the tunnel on Battery, you can actually make that jump into the tunnel from the stack of boxes. It's kind of hard to set up and probably not consistent, but maybe worth a shot to cut some more time? Awesome run btw!👏
@DistroGaming4 ай бұрын
@@t-rexgrandma9995 this is true but there is an invisible barrier until the missile passes through. You cant grab onto the ledge until the missile passes through. Thanks! :)
@t-rexgrandma99954 ай бұрын
@DistroGaming I see, makes sense that somebody would've tried that. I didn't even know you could follow it like that until I watched your speedrun. Had me looking stupid 🤦♂️
@DistroGaming4 ай бұрын
Oh, don't worry about it! I am sure there are some strategies that seem super obvious but that we don't use in the speedrun. Multiple perspectives can be really really helpful sometimes. You couldn't have known about the invisible barrier and the idea is good! I appreciate people like you who try to make us go faster at video games. Thank you! :)

How long have you been involved in speedrunning? Happy to support new efforts, this game is an all-time classic.

Hello! I started speedrunning in 2015 with Halo 2 on the Legendary difficulty. At the end of 2015 I started doing Halo 5 speedruns on Legendary. I started running Splinter Cell 1 for a short time in 2018. I then took an extended break because of life and university until maybe 2021 or so. I don't remember. I have learned the other Splinter Cell speedruns in 2022 and 2023 I think. So yeah. I have been around for a while. It's just that the games I play are generally quite niche so you realistically won't ever hear about me in the general speedrunning world. Thanks for the support, though! Splinter Cell is one of my favorite game series. The classic Splinter Cells are just such iconic stealth games.

hi distro. im going to ask you (and to anyone who might know) a REALLY WEIRD question, but id really like the answer to it. and seeing as that youre a splinter cell gamer expert and probably know ALOT more about computers than i do here goes. in one of the seoul missions sam is in a childs room that has been bombed out. on one of the dressers or nightstand there sits a twirling childs lighted toy that plays one of the most beautiful melodies i've ever heard. i was wondering if youd know *told you it was a weird question* how to get that tune and extract it from the game and possibly put it on an mp3. i tried a google search putting in many different phrases to find it to no avail. im too lazy to replay the game again to that mission so that i can listen to it again. lol.

Hello! I have forwarded your question to DirectorMusic who is another Splinter Cell speedrunner but who also works with audio a lot. I am confident he will get the sound file for you. Do you use Discord or something else where I can send the sound file to you once Director finds it? Update: Director found the melody!

I've just realized it is because of my name lol. It is not related to Linux in any way. I do use Linux as a main OS on my laptop and for programming work but that is more of a coincidence. My username was Distro already before I even knew what it meant in the OS world.

That's fair. Not everyone's cup of tea. However, Any% speedruns are the default category. The sole goal is to go fast. A run where you can't get caught is a challenge category. That being said, I have done a few 100% runs before. Can't get spotted there. :P
