The thing I love about Disturbed is that David Draiman actually sounds mostly the same in person as on his albums. There are so many artists that use modifications to their voice so they never sound in concert how their albums sound.

I love how the bass drum always seems to follow the guitar riff note for note. Such a tight combo. The drums really drive Draiman’s famous “oowah-ah-ah-ah” on DWTS even though it’s just a snare. The bass drum and guitar rhythm and bass being so tight is a very unique thing to Disturbed. It’s all over their records too. For example in The Game, stricken, Indestructible, asylum and another way to die. That’s my personal take on what makes their sound unique anyways. True pioneers!

Late to the party...Just started listening to Distrubed. Geezz double drum much go to 10:50 mark. Love vocals on Stupify and well every song is powerful but I like Down with the Sickness. If I go to the gym, this music is definately a motivator!

David Draiman is such a good singer! His style of vocals are so taxing on the voice and vocal cords, but even at the end of the show, he still sounds great! You can tell his voice is wearing down as the show goes on, but it's still solid. I think I read somewhere that he was classically trained as well, the flexibility of his voice is second to none that I can think of. He is up there with the greatest singers of all time.

People often forget why a vocalist like Draimen will stop using his fry register partway through a concert. Using that raspy area of the voice is tiring, and using it for an entire concert can cause damage. So usually he’ll have to take a step back with it. You might not get the “metal” sound that you’re used to, but it’ll still be in tune with a more “pure” tone to it. The fact that he can still sound like this while LIVE is astounding and impressive!
