Yeah it would have been nice to see these two more in the "Down With the Sickness" / "Barracuda" type of upbeat metal song but I like this. It's a song about his divorce so there's a reason for it's existence. Picking Ann Wilson was smart; she's from a different era but I don't think anyone else matches David's rasp and power like she does. Plus there's something really cool about seeing her still killing it when she's in her career twilight. Besides, David is probably 50 years old and at this stage trying something different isn't all bad. The heavier songs sell albums, but the ballads sell singles and allow us to persuade our wives to go to the concert.

Disturbed's Divisive album was four years in the making, during which two of the band members' marriages broke down. Drummer Mike Wengren got divorced early in the pandemic and guitarist Dan Donegan went through a split in early 2022. This song is about a disintegrating relationship where each party struggles with letting go. It was inspired by the ending of Donegan's marriage. "That was a really personal one for me," Dan Donegan told Billboard. "During COVID-19, I was going through a divorce after 18 years of marriage. Part of that divorce process is that there was still a great deal of love we have for each other, and we couldn't imagine our lives without each other. Just that letting go, letting somebody go that you still love, but maybe the marriage just might not be working anymore... It was touching on that. It was just very personal." And as a note David got divorced Feb 2023.

This song was written about Disturbed's guitarist's divorce. It's a song about divorce. Check out the symbolism of the lit candle at the beginning, it's blown out at the end, the house explodes, and at the end the couple is in their own houses. Lots of symbolism. It's a typical metal ballad but I don't think there is a better female hard rock singer than Ann Wilson. He has said since Disturbed started that he views Ann as the GOAT of female rock singers, and he reached out to her after she sent out a tweet saying she liked Disturbed and they became friends. This song was written without a female part, and in the studio he decided it needed a female and only had Ann in mind. He emailed her and asked if she'd do it and she said yes so they remixed the song and added her part. I like the song, and I think it's actually that much cooler having Ann in it. I think it's a 7.

Listen to the words of the song - this is a break up song that talks about making the tough decision to split up. The two of them sound epic together. Several of the band had recently been through divorces and this is about those tough decisions before the break up - are we sure this is it? Should we end it?

"Not saying he is a bad singer".... Draiman is one of the great rock singers. I understand if the song is not your cup of tea - you don''t seem to have any emotional connection to it. But to not recognize the singer's talent - just wow - you guys really don't know talent

Wow.....listen to them sing. The guitarist went through a divorce, too. This is freaking awesome. To each their own. WEAK????? Holy crap....Draimon has an incredible voice. Does it have to come out hard? Lyrics are relatable...This is Rock. Rock ballad. Think back to 80's rock ballads. This is why rock has died. Seriously. Smh....These lyrics are on point and fit the song

Their lack of appreciation (or even awareness) for the talent of Draimon was so off putting and completely out of line with all other reaction videos - many voice coaches that do recognize his talent and would have just been breathless with such comments like "not in his wheelhouse".
