The smoke in the sky could be due to large forest fires in Quebec. I am in St. Louis, and we have been having the same problem from the fires all the way west in British Columbia.

@@cindyrifkin5300 If you smelled rubber, probably it was something local. But the smoke from Canada has been spreading out over large distances.

3:42 the beach is to your right down those side streets, what your viewing is Seabrook harbor and the marshes. Did you actually go to Seabrook Beach or just stay on Route 1A?

I wish I knew you guys were going to be in this area, as it's my old stomping grounds. I wanted to jump in so many times to add commentary. First, as others have pointed out (ironically), the "smog" is from the fires up in Canada (where you just were). NH and MA (NE in general), has horrendous pot holes. They're caused by the expansion and contractions of ice and snow and water between seasons. Add on top of that the salt that gets put down on the roads in the winter. Then the plow trucks that rip up pavement as roads are cleared of snow and ice. The quality of the asphalt put down and the patching materials is also garbage and continually needs repair. This is known as "don't kill the job", a term used by union workers, and those that work in government roles. If the roads didn't need continuous maintenance then paving companies wouldn't have constant jobs, and fat cat politicians wouldn't get paid off by those companies to win the contract bids. This is true throughout America. There's so much to say about the area you went through in this video, I'd love to have talked to you about it. I owned a house in Seabrook, and in nearby Exeter (I grew up in NH). BTW, that 'temple' you pointed out is actually the Seabrook Nuclear Power Station. HAHA! That thing is an eyesore and is surrounded by controversy from the day construction started. Have a look at Wikipedia if you are interested. Like all government projects it to forever to complete and cost almost 10x more than it's original budget. Lots of people got rich making that monstrosity (mostly politicians, local officials, and contracted companies). It still poses a threat to every local town resident, if a disaster occurred. There are disaster sirens scattered everywhere in that area, that are know to spontaneously go off for no apparent reason. The first time you hear one go off, you might end up having to change your clothes. With the crap roads there's no escape if a disaster occurred. Most towns issue Iodine tablets for free to residents in case of radioactive fallout. The plant should have been shutdown years ago, but money talks and safety takes a back seat. The original owners of the power station went bankrupt years ago. Ironically the major owner of plant is Florida Power and Light! Also much of the power that comes out of that plant doesn't even go to or benefit the local towns. Rightfully the power coming out of that plant should go to the surrounding towns. If that were true electricity cost would be super cheap there. Instead cost of electricity in NH is among the highest in the country. Nearly twice as much per KWH as Florida! BTW, the bridge you went over connects Salisbury (MA), to Seabrook (NH). It is extremely ugly, but functional. In the summer months the traffic is bumper to bumper from Hampton Beach down across the bridge all the way down to Salisbury beach. I was filming over that inlet where that bridge is using an expensive drone. As it was going over the inlet the drone freaked out, went out of control and dropped into the ocean below. $1500 DJI Phantom drowned in the depths of the Atlantic. That really, really sucked. Go to my KZbin site to see the last moments of that drone falling into the ocean. I also have videos from the Drone posted of Hampton Beach down to Salisbury. It really is a beautiful area, only marred due to state and local incompetence. I moved to Florida 4 years ago and I miss the beauty of NH but not the snow, cold or the idiocy of the local governments. As a suggestion for more content and to maximize all the work you put into your videos - you could have your subscribers do reaction videos with you when you do these trips through familiar areas. Also when you do more trips in the future you could alert your (paying), subscribers the chance to suggest areas to travel through and comment on. This is the biggest comment I've ever written, you struck a nerve and I was thrilled to see familiar roads and surroundings from my home town areas. Keep up the great work you guys! Good luck to Katie in her real estate career! www.youtube.com/@chrisdunigan3718

It's SO COOL to hear an outsider's perspective on the most popular beach in NH and Northern MA. All your comments solidify all the things that I always think when I visit there now and make me miss the way Hampton Beach used to be when I was a kid. As a kid, it was a vacation destination for families that lived anywhere in Massachusetts, NH, or Southern Maine. It was safe, relatively cheap to stay, and FUN! They had large flat yellow rafts that looked like blow-up mattresses that you could rent for cheap money to take out on the water. There were arcades, ice cream shops, and vendors set up all over the place selling fried dough and Icee drinks. They also used to have an old-school "shooting gallery" where you would shoot at all kinds of mechanized things that were set up behind a counter, each doing something different when you shot the tiny little target next to it. Like a parrot that would squawk, a small replica player piano that would play a tune, a chest that would open to reveal gold inside, etc... All fun stuff for kids. They also had (and still have) places for adults to go and have fun, like the Casino Ballroom. That place has been in business forever. It's a cool place to see a band, and they have a long history with many acts that have played there. Nowadays, the small shops along the boardwalk have been mostly replaced with cheap touristy plastic sunglass huts, beach apparel shops, and most disturbingly... MORE BARS. Hampton was family oriented 20 years ago, but now attracts young adults that get all fucked up and like to start fights once the sun goes down and the kids have gone home. It's really a shame. It's too bad you guys didn't go 15 minutes South of there and visit Salisbury Beach in Massachusetts. It's a lot smaller, but the town is actually making an effort to keep it clean and fun, and pumping a lot of money into renovating it. Me and my fiance’ prefer Salisbury to Hampton. I live close to Hampton now (about 20 minutes south in Haverhill, MA), and visit there occasionally, but I used to go there frequently as a kid. It used to be a nice beach but has kinda turned to shit over the years. It's not a place to bring your family anymore, or for anyone that doesn't drink, unless you go to the Casino Ballroom to see a show or leave before the sun goes down and the drunks come out.

Since you passed the area I spent one summer at Salisbury beach. I was 13. It was one of the best summers growing up. Every day we'd walk to the center or Centah. There was a fun park with rides. There was an arcade we frequented each day. Fried dough was common. The fun park was taken down kind of a bummer. The memories live on. Many days spent on the beach, getting used to the icy Atlantic.

Sea wall protects the coastline and properties from storms, erosions and winter damages. Been there as far back as I can remember. I remember it used to be some of the prettiest seaside cottages on the North Hampton Beach strip. Looks to be mostly condos now. That's progress I guess but I do miss it sometimes.

Southerners forget the we have winters in NH . The ground freezes, which causes the ground to swell as its impossible to keep up with all the bad roads . Even a freshly paved road lasts about 5 years before its a mess again .

Hampton Beach is not a shit hole. They invested 14 Million in to the beach in 2012 and have built multiple multi million dollar condo buildings. It’s voted among the top beaches in the country every year and is very popular.
