That story about Greg and the unseen wife reminds me of a situation in my own neighborhood and a very sad one. There was a family with four kids across the street from where I grew up. The middle daughter was a fun and friendly energetic girl and teenager. She went on to marry a builder who, to be honest, everyone seemed to dislike instantly. One of those guys who manages to be arrogant and ignorant at the same time. As time passed and all the kids left the nest I'd still see the other three fairly routinely, coming from as far away as Minnesota to visit the parents but never the one who married the builder. A few months back the Mom passed away and I went to her memorial and again - this daughter isn't there. I had seen her exactly once since her marriage and she was unrecognizable. 300 plus pounds of monosyllabic sadness. I finally asked the oldest, a son who I'd been best friends with as kids, wtf had happened to his sister. He clenched his fists, his face turned red and I swear his eyes went wet with rage. This guy had moved her into the middle of nowhere, monitored her with a video camera, confiscated her car keys, and checked her cell phone and online history every single day. She was allowed out twice a year - an hour at her parents on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Cherry on top, as they were lowering their mother into the ground he drives up close and honks his horn and telling her to hurry up or they'd hit traffic. I'm sorry this is taking so long to tell with so little payoff other than this. I won't pretend me and her were close but I did like her and loved their mom and was infuriated on general principles. I wanted to feed this guy his own liver while he was alive and conscious. I asked the brother why something hadn't been done. The dismal and outrageous answer is SHE refuses to claim any sort of abuse or mistreatment and insists her marriage is happy - despite her depression and obesity and the multiple accumulating ailments which attend those two conditions. Thus neither the family or law can do a thing. I think these may be the loneliest people in the world -victims of domestic abuse in whatever form who can't admit their condition to themselves. I'd love to end with a rousing war cry of organize and help these very real victims. But the sad moral is that there are no avenues to do that.

Very familiar with each of those countries. They are 2 of the few European nations that if someone gave me a globe with no identification on it, I’d still be able to point them out. Thank you again for watching! 😊😊

The police in England did a lot more for that girl and her Greg situation than the police in California did for me. My downstairs neighbor was screaming threats out of the window, showing up at my door in the middle of the night, took photos of my door and rang my door bell when I wasn’t even home, accused me of doing and saying things I didn’t do, shutting off my air condition compressor from outside, banged around loudly at random times, etc. The police in California didn’t even speak to the dude on the two occasions that they showed up. It took them 1-2 hours to show up each time. Luckily he was causing trouble in other aspects of his life and had to move. Otherwise, who knows how long I would have lived in terror. The second amendment is the only reason that I slept well at night.

I'm sorry you had to deal with such a situation, I can only imagine how frightening simply existing in your own home must've been during those times. However, I'm also glad that your "Greg" never FAFO knowing that you were ready with the blammy. Thanks for watching, and thanks for sharing!

why all these stories sounds like wrote by the same aspiring writer..? I can't stand it. t least try to write like real persons...
@GantzJasonАй бұрын
i agree most of the time these reddit folk try to make it seem like they’re writing for a novel

Not sure why these stories all sound the same to you. If you have any that you’d like to share, please feel free to send them my way.

@@MalevolentMischiefthey don’t sound alike to me at all and I’m a published writer. Why not scroll on down, because hurting someone’s work is so preferred by you?
@jackiebeh6702Ай бұрын
I think it’s cause you’re hearing the same voice, and they’ve probably been edited because there is such poor writing generally.
@christinecole6565Ай бұрын
t's so silly to me that people do this.. + it just doesn't even make sense literally and figuratively. Writing is writing. "try to write like real persons" 🤦♀️ definitely don't write like those fake people. *Keep commenting though..
