Nice to see an alternative to the usual airbrush or weathering powders thrown at track work Julian.

Excellent stuff Jules. It really is on its way to becoming a great scene, provided you aren’t too much of a ‘clumsy clot’ 😅 I’m not sure if this was the case ‘back in the day’ but certainly these days there are an awful lot buddleia bushes (or ‘Butterfly Bush’) along our permanent way as they tend to like the conditions. It also means you get quite pretty views when driving along soon after they have produced their purple flowers which are extremely fragrant too (though that might be harder to model in 1:76 🤔). I’ve seen all sorts, like wild geranium, rhododendron, masses of brambles, and even giant lavender bushes! It’s amazing what clings to rolling stock and then falls off randomly 😜 Love that technique on the rails by the way. Simple but effective 👍 Cheers mate, hope you have a great week 🍻😉👍

Julian, it's all coming on nicely. Last time, I thought those blotches on the side of the viaduct looked really good. It's often the case that there are large random stains of various types on big expanses of brickwork, not just the regular outbursts of chalky residue where stuff has leeched out of the bricks. It doesn't take long for a drain to get blocked and, "water will always find its way". Even viaducts still in use today have stuff growing out of the sides. From my childhood in London in the sixties there were also stil a lot of undeveloped bomb-sites, with fireweed and budlija being the species I really remember. "Have at it."

Coming along really nicely. Just a suggestion, how about a bit of rust on the exposed fasteners, broken/misplaced/loose sleepers, a bit of lifted rail. Watching from the sideline in Bali.

I'm a fairly recent follower of your channel. I'm loving the detail on your layout. I'm currently in the process of building my first layout. Also a big high from across the pond in Melbourne.

Must be getting cold down there your hands were shaking a lot in that one. I’m working in part 4 of a disused line that runs through the layout and I have more enjoyment looking at that than I do the mainline with a train passing by. It’s the fascination of what story lies behind the line keep up the good work.

Yep, the cold weather doesn't help when a steady hand is needed.

Looking very good. Suggestion for hiding the big round mark on the side of the viaduct; what about a height limit sign. Arthur

Looking good, Julian! What about a stack of old removed sleepers? Weather worn and slightly overgrown, near where the indentations fade out? Boomer Dioramas did a great video on scratch building from styrene but you could probably get equally good results by laser cutting them. A couple of saplings would look good too, some species get pretty tall in that time, eh?

Hi Julian! Just caught up with the whole viaduct build and have to say that from initial design to final construction it's been very impressive to watch! I particularly liked the way you evolved parts of the design when you found that things weren't working as you'd intended, and ultimately made a better product! I also liked the illusion you created of the missing sleepers! Very good! Keep up the good work! All the best, Ian.
