Dit she just attacked me?

Look what happend when I was trying to play with my black xl American bully ( pitbull) Mystique.

Three things that set that dog off. 1. the giggling of the person shooting the video. 2. the slippery hardwood floor-it actually hurts their hips and influences their psyche when they can never find traction 3. Lack of exercise you can tell by their actions they dont get enough exercise. You have a powder keg on your hands good luck.

Have you seen his other videos? While I don't really follow his channel, I've seen a few of his videos which lead me to believe that he exercises his dog regularly. If i recall correctly, there's a video of maybe 3 dogs off leash and listening well. There are also videos of the family walking some of the dogs in town, dogs were social and very well behaved. Also, if they truly lacked exercise, they'd be taking out their frustration on each other, specially in that small environment. The absence of scars would indicate that's not the case.

If you don't know that stop commenting just to comment. Simply because a dog has no scars is not a good test to determine its mental or physical health.

@@jbpbulldog And I think you need to work on your reading comprehension. My comment on the absence of scars was not about temperament. It was about fights breaking out due to frustration from lack of exercise. That was my response to your statement about them lacking exercise. Also, I am very aware that dogs behave differently when out. However, a dog that lacks exercise will most likely be very excited and pull on the lead and find other ways to expel all that accumulated energy. If you've seen his other videos, his dog's are CALM, so calm even his young son can walk them on a loose lead. Oh, and there are other scenarios where dogs get very excited such as when they're released from the crate and after getting a bath. And some dogs are simply so excitable that exercise can only do so much. For the record, while the video was amusing, I don't entirely agree with the behaviour there. But, because I've seen his other videos, I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah right, it looked to be a slight show of dominance. He was lower then the dog, which with certain breeds is a big NO NO.

To those who think she is "just playing rough," here's some food for thought. At 0:32 to 0:36, she was looking at him with whale eyes (showing the whites of the eyes), a sign that she was not happy with that interaction. But when he started patting her belly, she relaxed a bit. At 0:42 to 0:45, she wanted to get out of his grasp and he restrained her, which again, she did not like. She showed this at 0:47 with her escalated "rough play" which was actually a disimulated way of communicating her displeasure using playful dominance. She clearly looks up to her human, but is still testing the waters, something he should keep in mind. Specially when she is that excited. That kind of excitement can easily turn into dominant behavior, as seen in this case. Because of his relationship with his dog, he was able to diffuse the situation, although she stayed too excited. I hope that one day, they can move to a house with a yard for the dogs to run in.

By dominant behavior you mean bite him right? Cause that is a look that dogs commonly give before diving in for a chomp. The dog is whale eyeing, licking it's lips, and getting close to biting and the owner thankfully realizes that and pushes the dog away before it happens. Dude is lucky the dog didn't get his face. Don't call aggressive behavior dominant behavior. It isn't. The stupid alpha and dominance methods shown in the video and in the comments are why dogs act like the one in the video. Learn real dog training. Also a lot of people in the comments don't seem to even realize how close this dog was about to do real harm. This is why when you own a dog you need to know dog behavior. I see so many people say their dog was such a sweetheart before it mauls someone. It's because that dog was already showing signs of aggression that never got fixed because the owners didn't even realize it was aggression until it was too late.

@@novaangle2183 wrong, I meant dominant behavior. Sadly, all too often, dominance and aggression are used interchangeably and that is so wrong. There are many ways a dog can show dominance, standing with head erect over another dog's shoulder, mounting, jumping with forward force. And no, there was no sign (yet) that Mystique wanted to bite. He diffused the situation with the belly pats, even before he pushed her away. If the licking you mentioned was during the belly patting, it looked more like she wanted to lick his face in appeasement. But it cud have escalated to a bite if he didn't heed the warning signs. And if she did bite him, it would have been a correction, still not considered aggression. To me, real aggression would involve a dog trying to do real damage. And no, the alpha/dominance correction is not why Mystique acts like that. She is simply a very excitable dog who likes to rough house but did not like some of the interaction. Getting put on her side actually snapped her out of the dominant play. And yet her tail kept on happily thumping away lol

It’s not funny. Laughing is only creating more confusion. Beautiful, excited dog who can’t control herself with all that energy around her. Yes of course correction is needed to claerify boundaries but respect is mutual. She maybe didn’t feel it… obvious she didn’t like the setup. Work her up like that and dominate her. Yes you are the boss always but a lionking can enjoy play still without loosing position.

Dogs often get excited before they hurt other dogs and people. That energy needs to be controlled. Imagine agreeing to spar Mike Tyson and he’s all hyped up on adrenaline. In that state he would be more likely to hurt you than if he were calm and communicating with you about what you wanted to work on.

Actually horrible control, she doesn't listen at all and kept going until he had to threaten to hit her then he lost control of himself after the fact which you should never wait more than a few seconds to punish. And the way he put her down could have injured her or gotten him bit worse. Yeah bad control, and if he was smart at all he would have never amped her up like that with his face where she could reach it. Hope he doesn't allow play between the kid and dog cause well disaster pending

I am mortified at how you are handling that dog. As a pit bull owner they are big and rambunctious. I've been accidentally hit many times by my pit. Yes it hurt but I never yanked her around never. It's part of the deal and you learn when to get out of the way.

Definitely wasn't attacked. She was just real hype but that was good that he laid her on her side and kept her there. It's discipline. Not to sure if she understood the lesseon because it wasn't immediately done but definitely was needed. I don't except mouth playing from my staffy with me or anyone in my family also. Try not to flinch when she gets close to your face. Expect it but hold your ground and say no. Flinching just makes her think maybe I should do it maybe I shouldn't. Not flinching and saying no means it's not excepted and she better not do it everytime

That dog will switch soon Never sit on the floor with any dog and let it mount you or half mount you. Whale eyes there was alot of white, he clearly don't know his dogs. Never touch a dog unaware from behind or slap down on their lower back especially with their back turned to you. Never grab the dog and try to roll it slightly as he did . Especially after slapping its lower back That dog is a ticking time bomb.

I don’t think she attacked you. A little rough in her playing and excitement, but not an attack. This dog seems to be overly joyed to be around you, at the point she can’t control herself. She needs to be trained, to control her excitement. I use to own a pit bull, mines was the same way. She lived for rough play. I so missed her, I sometimes cry when I think of her.
