As for the channel, you keep giving us fantastic content. Interesting people and inspiration. What an awesome and talented family. Love the creativity, ethos, and build of the van. The fact that jnr has mum and dad 24/7 is awesome for her well-being and confidence, she'll have so many memories, not to mention strength if character, resourcefulness, and a world view which is not typical. (As a former preschool teacher, most kids require both parents to be away working full time, while the littlies are raised by proxy. The only exception I've experienced are kids of boaties -I live in New Zealand- the kids live and travel around the Pacific, may spend winter in Northern NZ winterless ports, and happily play with any peer group regardless of language or culture.)

Thank you for the lovely comment Angela. We really love how some cultures see the importance of being around their children when they need them most. Back in the 80's and 90's I did a lot of hitch hiking around the UK and Europe. As you can imagine I spent a great deal of time living and travelling outdoors. One of my greater pleasures was finding a secluded spot somewhere, then finding a small 3 or 4 inch log, and squatting over it with my pants around my ankles. As Ollie said, there are very few things in life that better relieving yourself in a forest. And until you have tried squatting over a log, you have never had a real poo. It's also best to do this at the base of a big tree too, as when the inevitable 'falling backwards' occurs, it's comforting to know there is something behind you, rather than the more obvious consequences. Just thought I'd share that pearl of wisdom.............

Hello good on you all, we full time, we just sold up and hit the road. We powered up with gas and electric, 700 watts of solar, 270 amps of lithium, b to b and a 1600 watt ( inverter / charger expensive ). I would check your weight, and also insurance, we pay comfort insurance for full-timeing £1300 a year this includes breakdown insurance and as I can travel on my Irish passport can stay in France for longer than 3 months, Spain for longer will need a temp visa. Many that full time use a family member and address, if they need to claim the mainstream companies will not pay out?.
@vandercampadventures11 ай бұрын
We were uncomfortably close to the GVW on completion of the van, especially when fully loaded. This is why we decided to remove the tailgate. Because baby Moo, and our mom and dad bods, are growing, we legally increased the truck's weight to a HGV, which now has a legal limit of 4.2T instead of 3.5T. However, this meant that Ollie had to obtain his HGV license. But it also means that our next conversion can be a truck, which is exciting 😁! Now that we have a HGV, the insurance is cheaper, and the tax has been reduced by half (Crazy, we know). Our insurance policy covers us for living in the truck full-time and travelling abroad for 365 days a year for less than £400 (breakdown cover not included).
@mpjkea200011 ай бұрын
I think you should read the small print, could you give us the name of. Your insurance company. In the UK there are maybe two companies that allow fulltiming. Many companies allow you to travel 365 days a year , but not if you don't have a fixed home address, you cannot use a family address, please ask your insurers. We have been fulltimers for many years and can assure you that your full-time premium will be more than a £ 1000 a year . You can leave your home for up to 8 months if you inform the company, then you have to inform your home insurance that you intend to leave the property unattended. Ps not trying to be negative but if you ever need to make a claim the company will not pay out.

This lifestyle screams to me the word... HASSLE ! Hassle from police, other ''travellers'' (no names, no pack drill) local thugs, irate farmers and the ever disdainful middle classes. Not to mention break-down costs, camp-site fees and problems with officialdom...not having an address generally irritates the authorities.
@vandercampadventures11 ай бұрын
Hey Jimmy, Van lifestyle not for you then? 😅. It's not for everyone. The only time we've ever experienced 'hassle' was in Croatia where they're very strict on campervans. Hassle generally comes when people in campervan/motorhomes think they have a right to go where they want, when they want. Be respectful of other people and they will be respectful to you. You wouldn't believe the generosity we've experienced from locals, even the police. Also, once out of the UK and the further South you go, the world becomes a lot more relaxed and free. How life should be in our eyes. We do have a fixed UK address.
