🍂 Hello. I'm Autumn Guitar. This cover song is a song that was born in the fall of October 75 years ago from now. This cover song was written by French national singer, Edith Piaf herself. She wrote the lyrics after the death of Marcel Cerdan, the world middleweight champion boxer she loved. Shockingly, Marcel was married when they first met. He later divorced, but their love did not last long. Edith Piaf, who did not want to be apart from him even for a moment, became anxious and begged Marcel to come to her quickly. In October 1949, Marcel rushed from Paris to New York to meet Edith Piaf, but the plane he was on crashed and he died suddenly. For this reason, his death became even more painful to her, and she sublimated her love into song, creating this song. However, she had a hard time overcoming this sadness, and she became increasingly addicted to alcohol and drugs. After that, her body gradually deteriorated due to traffic accidents and drug use, and she passed away at the age of 47 in 1963. That is why the word 'sky' appears frequently in the lyrics. Perhaps it means the place where 'he' who left for heaven first is. The reason I am giving you an explanation of the cover song is because The more you know about the background of the song, the more you will hear the depth. I hope my short knowledge and explanation will help you understand the song. But more than anything, I sang it with the hope that 'Celine Dion', who sang a ''Hymn of Love" with her whole body on top of the Eiffel Tower despite her difficult battle with illness at the 2024 Paris Olympics, will recover quickly. I dedicate this song to her. Thank you today as well. and Thank you for enjoying this song.☺

I continue to love the way you carefully select each cover. So it's been 75 years since the release of this song! And it remains just as beautiful as it did back then. And as you said, providing the history and context of this song greatly magnifies its depth and significance. It seems like the greatest pieces of music are born from tragedy and feelings of raw emotion, as this song demonstrates. Your tribute to Celine Dion is a touching gesture. Your delicate and tender voice perfectly captures the beauty of the original song. And I think if she could hear your version, she would be moved by it as well :)
