I really like the first and second sequences in this video. The older cousins trying to figure out who Beatrice really is ties in so well with the themes introduced later, and Ryukishi is really good at making business negotiations dramatic and eye-catching to me, which is no easy feat. I actually felt rather clever when I realized the competence of the other siblings hadn't been called into question right before Krauss dug up their dirty laundry.

As much as I liked the first bit of the family conference when Krauss countered the younger siblings contract and their jobs were brought up it kind of got boring (afterwards it felt fine). I still think this is a really good story so far though.

You have to remember even tho she's a child she's supposed to be 9 years old. Compared to nanako from persona 4 animation, I think Maria is definitely autistic. And that's not an insult it's just the way she acts and talks gives the impression of her being autistic.

Unfortunately most of umineko is a mindfuck, so sometimes its good to have these scenes as reference to the overall picture, plus the motives behind every character. Its a long ass introduction, but after you've reached the truth, rereading it adds a whole other layer to the story and the characters. Right now its slow and boring, but it will pick up soon, and when it does it won't stop lol
