BTW, how do you know the damage occurred? by reaching 0.99? So, it is different from the criterion that we mentioned if it gets higher than 1 the damage occurred? I just confused.
@FEADith3 жыл бұрын
if it gets higher than 1, damage starts.. "start: means the stiffness start to degrade bit by bit... how much it degrades is defined by variable d. if d = 0, no damage if d = 0.5, current stiffness is half of original stiffness in this case, i limit d upto 0.999 so the first one is for initiation the second one (d) is for evolution.

@@FEADith So, this is same as when we define any damage failure criteria in composite materials in subroutine and if it gets higher than 1 then the damage happens, right?

sir, what is status you chose? Why you always use the evenly space interval what does it mean?

hi, coul you pls explain why did you make your part as a solid shape of extrusion type ? and not a shell type ? what is the deffrence between them? when to use when?
@FEADith2 жыл бұрын
Thats solid part is solid in terms of geometry.. but from the constitutive model point of view it is shell element.. its called continuum shell. So the appearance is solid but the formula behind it is shell element. Whats the different to conventional shell? Convent shell nit good for contact oroblem since it does not have explicit thickness.. but convent shell good for bending problem.. Continuum shell not good for bending

@@FEADith hi thank you for your responce, I also wanted to know is there a way to add the cohesive interaction beteween the ply as a 0 thickness layers ? because here they have a thickness? I have 16 plies , is there a way to do that ?

@@FEADith hello again, I have few more questions. I have constructed a simple tensile test model for my undefeated composite laminate, and I have calculated the reduced E11 ( from the stress starin curve along the fiber direction) However, I wanted to validate that my modelling approach was correct, so I thought of analytically calculating the general stiffness matrices (ABD) usinh a python code, and compare it with the general stiffness matrix of the abaqus model after extracting it. And now am confused, are these the right approach to validate that my simple abaqus model is correct? All I wanted to do was to check that my reduced E11 ( from the abaqus model ) is not so far from the value Calculated analytically. And also am not sure, if there is a way to extract the general stiffness matrix out of abaqus? Because I have tried a couple of methods I found on goolge but they didnot work. So my question is, if you can recommend a method for me to validate that my abaqus model , please do. And , if you can expalin to me more what are the values that I should validate against each other, will be great. Thank you in advance

@@FEADith That's a nice comment reply using the experience of FEA by Dith. Love that one :)

Why you don’t use any interaction, because you used interaction at part2. Thank you for
