My jaw dropped at the scene. Armitage should of lead the Final Order fleet. Not Pryde. So disgusting. Brendol's friend and Armitage's fellow abuser won. Sloane would be proud of you Hux. wish we could of seen her one last time and I would love to see her by her "son" s side and watch her beat the crap out of Pryde like she did Brendol

I'm happy people still exist who shipped them to the end. Most people seem to prefer Reylo or other ones. But Kylux is one of my favorite otp's. I'm just so happy that I'm not the only one still in love with this ship.

I think it was just such a cliche, the movie would have been fine without it. Also, it's not ew. This makes me tear up. Hux has such a tragic story. He starts out as an abused and bastardized illegitimate son who's treated as a disappointment. He grows up knowing nothing but war and is forced to experience horrors beyond imagining under the "care" of Gallius Rax. After the Empire is destroyed, Hux is finally able to come into his own, having his father killed and rising to become a general in the First Order. There he meets Kylo Ren, a man the opposite of him... a man who ran from loving parents, who abandoned the perfect life instead of struggling and killing to find that. Hux hates him with a burning passion, and then continues to be humiliated after a traitor, the failure of the project that has been his life's work. After that, his failure at D'qar leads to his humiliation at the hands of Snoke, likely giving him flashbacks to his own father, as Snoke seemed to be a father figure to him. However, he regains control of the situation just to have it spiral out of control as Kylo betrays the Order and kills Snoke, taking the mantle of Supreme Leader for himself. This pushes Hux over the edge- the organization he has spent his life serving has been taken over by a man who was dissatisfied with his own perfect life, who now mistreats and injures Hux, just like Brendol did. Then, Hux learns his one real friend, the only person he trusted has been killed by the traitor, the failure in the program he slaved away to create. Broken and beaten, Hux finally does something good. He warns the Resistance of the Final Order and then saves the entire galaxy but saving Poe Finn and Chewbacca. It's here that Armitage, for one single moment, becomes the hero he was always meant to be, the hero he could have always been. He chooses to stay, to stay and help the resistance instead of fleeing on the Falcon, and is then killed without ceremony by one of the men who had abused and harassed him his entire childhood. Hux became a real hero. He gave his life for a cause because I believe in that one singular moment, he realized how wrong he'd been. Seeing that hatred in Finn's eyes reminded him of himself. He realizes he's become just like his father in his attempts to escape him and build his own legacy. Hux, who was brainwashed into this life, finally rejected it in a single moment of true heroism. What's his reward? Nothing. He's never even mentioned again, forgotten entirely. Another nameless trooper lost to time. He dies on the bridge of a destroyer he'd never wanted to be on, far from his faithful Mitaka, far from his beloved Finalizer. As a non force sensitive, he simply passes on, gone and forgotten. Hux does the right thing and he pays dearly for it, receives nothing but a laser through the chest. Ben Solo dies a "hero's" death. At the last moment, while fighting a losing battle, he decided to run back to the life he had all along, and is rewarded with a kiss and a painless death in the arms of the one who loves him. He dies in a warm embrace, not the cold floor of a Star Destroyer. He's given the hero's death... but Hux is the real hero.

I agree with what you wrote about Hux, they did him so dirt. This isn't what he would have deserved. Based on the comics in the beginning I'd have thought he'd get a bigger role and some justice after all the mistreatment he had in his life, but sadly not. I think the way his character was mistreated is the real tragedy. But apart from this I have several other problems with the sequel, especially with TRoS.

No not yet, hopefully tomorrow. I've seen all Domhnall's press - a lot of spoilers however I knew Hux would be killed off. I feel absolutely gutted & devasted every time I see the clip of Hux being blasted. What a great actor & man Domhnall Gleeson is. I saw his father in Paddington 2 today. I see who he takes after.
