Dive Odyssey - A meditative journey into the depths of water - and mind
Dive Odyssey takes the viewers on a journey into crystal clear darkness where the only light ever is man-made. The film is an ode to thousands of years of mystical experience of water. It is also a
tribute to science-fiction classics, some of which may be recognized in the film.
The film follows the Explorer (Gemma Smith) through her exploration of an unknown planet. A
strange signal is reaching for her from the depths of ice. She makes her way through the snow,
looking for the source. Once she finds the spot, she begins a journey into the dark, ice cold world
submerged below the mountains.
She falls through the water column. The signal keeps calling her further into the depths. The sense of time and self start fading. It is like a space journey where physical and mental lose their borders. Thought and matter mix.
She encounters a shape in the darkness. It is the Silver Diver (Andy Torbet). During the encounter,
she turns into something ancient, communicating through her movement and trying to find the
connection. What first seems like something hazy and hard to understand turns into enlightenment and realization.

It is concrete wall to support the bottom of Lake Lohjanjärvi at depth of 42-45 meters. It was build when miners noticed that they had drilled too near the bottom of the lake.

I watched this for the first time in a dark room on a very large screen ... WOW! The cinematography is incredible! My respect and admiration goes out to the highly skilled divers in front of, and behind the cameras. As a diving instructor for over 20 years, I know the dangers involved in overhead environments. WOW! I'll be watching this a few more times for sure. Thank you for an amazing piece of work; this should receive international recognition!

How have i not seen this yet! As a cave diver myself i feel you perfectly encapsulated the feeling that the cave is beckoning you ever deeper into its depths. The caves goal is to ultimately hold you in its cold watery embrace and never let you go. The cave is not your friend!

The underwater videography of the diver first entering the water was utterly breathtaking! The crystal clear grayness of the terrain contrasted so starkly with the pristine snowscape above! In yet another contrast, the high visibility of the diver and her equipment was brilliant against the grayness. This is truly a wonderful location, visited, explored and detailed by only highly experienced divers.

Wow, absolutely amazing work. The cinematography was eloquent and deep. I really thought the whole experience was hightened by the choice of music. I'm a diver who is just detting into tech, and with ambitions to dive in caves and mines. Looking at the diving done here, I have so much respect for fiving in these environments, and for the divers, who must meticulously plan every detail and leave nothing to chance - even though something can go wrong at any point in time. And we only se the end-result of the film, but I can't begin to fathom all the painstaking work that went into this. Truly inspiring and pushes me to understand more and explore.
