Nice. A suggestion - when you try a green chilli like that, you take a TINY bite ALONG WITH the base item being served. It's not to be eaten separately . There are some folks who do. So first try a small bite WITH the main item. The same goes for pickles in India. You generally take a SMALL DAB of it along with the base item to spike it a bit. A huge piece by itself and it will be unpleasant. It's like salt. Food without salt is terrible but eating salt by itself is terrible too. These are food pairings and they need to be eaten with each other in the right ratio to get a good balance of complementing flavors. Btw, I love it when you do something compromising that makes Sam laugh. Like the bitter drink part LOL. His laugh is also infectious. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your adventures there.

Handvaa--the one you called the vegetarian pancake is awesome as well😊Sometimes its "date and tamarind chutney" in the dabeli, not just tamarind....please try out Dalwadaa as well... i m sure u will like it...dalwadaa is made from split mung lentils..i.e. split mung daal...hence the name... you eat it with onion and fried green chili...
