Brilliantly put. Both men stand alone, they are equally seminal to the history of Hip-Hop. Yes they had parallels in their life. The impact they had, the respect and the power in their words. However, both men are so distinct from one another. It's actually a disservice to say X is the new Pac. X was gonna be a legend regardless as was Pac. They were both destined for greatness. Icons of the culture. Their legacies will live on through those of us that love them. As long as I'm alive, I will talk about them in the highest regard. I will forever play their music.

He made 6 albums, five of which debuted at no 1 and went platinum of multiple times platinum. The 6th debuted at no 2 and went platinum if i'm correct. His comback album wasn't all that succesful but still debuted in the top 20, and coming back after 6 quiet years isn't easy. It's just that his childhood was so messed up, and the fact that one of his family members laced a blunt with crack and gave it to him has led to his addictions and the downfall of DMX the man.

I've had some real tough times in life and struggle with heart problems to this day having gone through 3 procedures so I haven't been following all the things like I used to like music. When I saw this I was like "Damn! I need to know what happened to this icon" and while I watched it I just prayed for him to be well at the end. I'll be praying for him to get out of this situation but above all for his health, god help him to leave all that behind no matter where he is at. Again, thank you sooooo much for your hard work, know that this means a lot at least 4 me. I pray for everyone's health and well being. Only a person who's been and is still going through serious health issues like me knows that health is the true wealth. I'm grateful just for feeling well and being able to go to work and get home without struggling with anxiety, irregular heartbeats, difficulty breathing, etc. Cherish the smallest and simplest things in life. Ok so here's the deal. I grew up in the era when DMX started dropping these albums. Back then we didn't social media and all that stuff that is giving a crap load of exposure to artists. We depended on actually buying albums with saved up money or most depended on parents/guardians purchasing it for us. Artists really depended on actual talent to be promoted. Most of his singles that didn't make it to the very top was due to this. With all the technology and access we have (internet/phones/downloads/online purchases), artists are exposed like crazy. That was not the case early 2000's. Some of the singles that make it to the very top aren't even that good. Most are promoted by young viewers that help artists make it big. It's all about access to your viewers that helps you get big.

DMX was is and still will always be the greatest. That dude was the epitome of masculinity. Gay Z was always jealous of niggaz that was doing better than him. Nas was better than Gay Z as well.

@brandonenga5 жыл бұрын
@courtesy55 can be both, i think feeling is first, where a lot of my live for dmx comes in. But also content where a lot of jay z comes into play. Add in i grew up on jay z, and have changed as his music changed. That being said, dmx is in every gym playlist i have haha.

@@brandonenga Give Nas a proper listen. If you want to fully appreciate his lyrics. Go to AZ lyrics or Rap Genius. You'll actually get a breakdown on how intelligent and astute Nas is. He is essential to the culture for a reason. His words are powerful, his lyrical prowess is superior to Jay-Z. When you get a chance give him a listen. You won't regret it.

Don-one Shellinz he's a crack head. That and bad managers is what fucked him up. Not some plan to keep the black man down.he had fuckin millions and fucked it away. bobdigi88 he made music that preached Christ, that is when the industry messed him up. Member Kat Williams? He put out the industry and became crazy. Member Kayne West a Christian? He vanished for a month or so while the press claimed he was sick then he fell off.

The reason his singles weren't charting high is because it was just the hood supporting him (mostly).

It wasn't just the hood supporting X, unless by the hood, you mean poor people in general haha :0D DMX was for the hood, from the hood, but was definitely heard and loved outside of the hood. This man can light a fire under anybody's ass, and get them up. He's troubled? Who isn't? If you're real, your mind will be troubled from what you've been through. I love DMX. He's real as fuck, and you don't have to be where he's from to know he's legit.

I agree. Even post mortem they are exploiting him and cashing in on his brand. Everybody wants a piece of him. Sad to say, they took advantage of him. Because of his addictions and drug issues, gold digging women and fake friends were able to leach on to him. If it wasn't for all of those mental and emotional issues along with the childhood trauma, DMX would have never allowed people to take advantage of him. He would have still been with his wife and family because he never would have hurt Tashera if he was in his right mind.

I wanna hear one more X album completely sober and focused he deserves one last go at glory it's DMX he sold out Woodstock in 1999 by himself he had so many hits dude is one of few guys from the 90's we genuinely care about. It's sad he got on drugs and fell off but he can get back on cause I think X deserves a 2nd chance no guy can get you hype, make you sad, make you think and inspire you in the same album he's amazing. He was a gangster that had prayers on his albums come on now give this guy another shot. If X gets his life together I'll get be here for it I hope he gets to smell the roses while he's here so we don't have dick ride him when he's dead wishing we appreciated him more fuck that celebrate him while he here.

Judge not; less you be judged first. X got me closer to god and I pray he feels how much collective love is really out there from the real that recognize. I did judge mofos that made fun of DMX and judged him as less than human, or a crack head clown and still do. Those mofos are still pointing the finga, probably at Kanye now, and still ain't got shit, or a personality for that matter. Wangsters are too dumb to recognize how such a little guy from the gutter of NYC where CREAM was the motto and shots rang a lot more than now because because the rent was too damn high and people with families were desperate. Dude pretty much raised himself in that jungle and created the poetry, art, therapy, and CREAM that is remarkable and a mark of genius. I don't care if he smokes crack he still on Mt. RUSHMORE of Real Hip Hop with Pac, Big, and Face. Haters need to find something else to do and maybe the collective love can ring though and bring em back to unleash the beast within. Face still lays it down and although their styles are nothing alike; I would love to see that tour.
