In my youth my extended family got together often. There was gardening, fishing, hunting and processing livestock. Dad was a mechanic so he did much of that for everybody. There was much trading back and fourth as cash was scarce. Each family had a way to bring in a small cash income. The rest was trading and swapping. The kids were very valuable because they were needed for hard work the oldsters could no longer do. And they learned valuable skills in return. There was heavy emphasis on hands on experience and learning new skills. The women worked together and the men did their things. We boys hung around the men so we could learn to talk and work like real men and of course the girls hung out with the women. Hard work was just normal and we took great pride in our abilities. Joking and teasing and rough play were normal. It was a great life. Good luck with your endeavors. Your get togethers sound awesome and they are probably the most important part. Keep doing that.

Thank you for your wise words. This is such a difficult topic for me to think about without starting to cry. Despite this, I am personally working to change this, in my own small way, for my life and my community. There are others doing this as well, even if only portion are speaking up it. Everyone has talent, use it for others. You will receive their talent. This is the best way with our current situation. This is not to say one should be ignorant or unaware of other fields of study however, but focus your efforts.

They've done an amazing job at painting a picture of a pseudo-reality, haven't they? In all areas of life, none the less. Just incredible. So much wasted effort, talent, and resources, all for greed. Hopefully this time around, as a collective we will learn this lesson and stop letting these particular souls keep repeating the pattern on our civilization.
@stryc9941 Жыл бұрын
After thinking about it, I take back a portion of what I said about "wasted effort, talent, and resources." The blind path of greed has led us to this day, today, where we can discuss such things. We might not have had the internet without this greed mentality. That and many other modern miracles. So its not all wasted, even if we all have to clean up the messes theyve made of the world overall. We can accomplish that, if we all put in the effort with good hearts and minds. So lets use what they gave us and turn it positive, let us be the ones to guide civilization, dont ever think you dont have the power to do so, in your own way.

@Maskedweird0 Best of luck with your path, I can begin to understand your struggle. In my experiences however, true power and security is created from "collective" effort. Most humans aren't meant to be alone and isolated, that sounds absolutely miserable to me, and I'm sure many would agree. For a simple analogy, all you have to look at is another organism similar to Humans, "Ants." A single Ant would struggle to survive on its own, and could not build a colony by itself, just a little hole to hide. Only with collective effort is the ability to thrive and build something incredible possible. 🙏
