I am a long time lifetime user. I've been building websites for small and medium size companies. At this point, I really need Divi to run faster and be more stable during the development process. I don't really need more fancy stuff (we have many 3rd party plugins for that), but just enhancements here and there. Then, when it's done, we can move on with other things. I do like Divi because it's a theme. That's a big difference with Elementor. It's all embedded. You don't have to worry about buying a theme and buying Elementor, upgrading both and maybe experiencing compatibility issues after every upgrade. With Divi, you have a consistent interface from your theme configuration to your page builder and that's great. I'm really looking forward testing Divi 5. My only concern is - will all the 3rd party plugin work with Divi 5? What about the child themes, the extra CSS/JS we added? Will the architecture of the html, Ids of html tags... stay identical? That would be interesting to know.

As a software developer, when I hear "Ground up", I know it means serious focus (and more importantly resources). Good luck to them - but it's a big ask in such a competitive market. Love your videos by the way. You are the only reason we still consider Divi as you provide honest/reliable feedback - so keep up the great work.

Hi Mak, as usual your KZbin channel input is of great value. I appreciate all the information and updates that you have provided. For me Divi is a great theme builder and with time I believe they will be on par with the new technology. I know that the technology is changing with light speed and the competition is stiff...however am thankful to Divi, which have helped me a great deal and have used for many years.🙂😃

As a new subscriber of Divi I am amazed by theme builder but also deceive by the lack of css basic features nowadays. Anyway it's a bit of a learning curve and I've just invested time, I will continue. Hope it get better, and I think it will.

Divi 5 will be years behind the competition upon release, with new features only planned for Divi 6. But the competition isn't standing still and waiting for Divi to catch up. I've already switched sites to Kadence, and I just don't know if Divi will ever be able to pull ahead enough for me to consider it again.

Could you please list some points of how Divi is way behind so I can know what am I missing out?. @@giorgiomx Mak mentions at least some of them - no flex or grid, no loop / query builder being the ones I find most annoying. You can add css to work around that - Mak provides some elsewhere - but it's pretty sad that Divi won't get those until v6. Divi certainly has strengths - I really like the breadth and uniformity of the options it offers across modules, which Kadence is only starting to work on, but by the time Divi 5 is released Kadence will have many of those options as well as flex, grid, loop builder, etc. which Divi will still lack.

@@JackVJohnson I see, I don't know what Flex, Grids or Loops are in these cases. Are those modules for web develoment with DBs? I remember Dreamweaver(since Drumbeat then Ultradev) that had those nice visual elements that conected with the DB and pulled the data our using SQL queries.

This announcement made me switch to Bricks nearly instantly. Looking at earlier release cycles, Divi 6 won't be here before 2025 (or even later).

I've been using divi since 2020 and Divi's still the best front-end editor I've ever used. I also use Elementor but at some point divi is easier to use and I don't need to spend too much time training my designers. And divi's marketing place has a lot of plugins I can use too. I have purchased almost all divi products. I'm also very thankful to Mak, Your KZbin channel has helped me a lot as well and I'm sure divi will be better in the future. Do not give up for divi.

I had no idea what flexbox was until I listened to this. I too have been thinking of bailing on Divi and going with Elemntor. I have used Divi for years. Good vid. Hope Divi sees it and add that flexbox.

I work with Divi for 5 years now and started with your tutorials. A huge thank you from me, too. There are so many small bugs and things that don't work, that its sometimes really annoying. After all the years I stuck to Divi, have a good library of workarounds, but some things are still there, since many years, which do not work properly. And if its just that you copy module settings and the settings for other devices are not copied etc., the missing scalable issue in the functions PHP, where I do have to go into functions PHP on every website to fix the scalability, the website customizer messing up the font sizes, line heights etc, and many more. Still Divi is the most comfortable builder so far. But I also see Gutenberg improves very fast, and other builders are actually worth trying out. I focus on speed now for all my websites. I dont use animations, fancy modules or so, if I can avoid it. For this: Divi is still the best, fast workflows, easy to handle. I hope they get divi 5.0 out soon, and can focus on improving these old and known issues and bringing out some new features too.

@@ARNBNDL because these people want to justify using a builder that is even more bloated than Divi, hands down. If you want to achieve great SEO results (at least on the performance side) have a look at builders that output clean code (or don't even use a builder). Candidates may be Bricks, Breakdance, Oxygen or Zion (random order).

We got a little screwed over with the lifetime license. Great news DIVI now has as AI builder.... wooo hooo!!!! But wait, it does not fall under the lifetime license so open your wallet!! Plenty of us feel a little ripped off. I guess your "deal of a lifetime" isn't all it's cracked up to be.

I am long time divi lifetime member and with the regular update and features they keep giving to divi community, I always feel that i got lifetime deal at a steal price, and they should get paid more for how they keep updating the platform. Glad that they created few more products like divi cloud, divi AI, hosting tie ups, now they will earn bit. I wish they put lifetime deal on divi AI or hosting packages, too.

@@godigital8201 Bricks, Breakdance, Cwickly, and even Oxygen is miles ahead. If you do serious web development, you don't need to ask me what features it's missing. If Divi has all the features you need, you can ignore my comment and enjoy it :)

Hi Mac, Divi 5 'probably' will be faster, something they've been promising that since version 4. If they make this happen, we will still have an out-of-date page builder. Divi 6 will 'probably' be the first big step forward. Until then: Breakdance builder is my primary choice for now.

I think you misunderstood. Divi can't/wont be used in Gutenburg. Divi will be compatible with Gutenburg 'Blocks'. ie. You will be able to add a Gutenburg Block into the Divi Builder.

They are cool, the main disadvantage is there are no plugins. That’s where Wordpress wins hands down.

I find it strange that you suggest viewers to purchase a broken/outdated product based on a promise of future improvement and FOMO alone rather than actually visible improvements of the product (e.g. Alpha/beta version of the rebuilt Divi). What do you tell your followers if the Dive still stays behind other modern builders?

Why do you find it strange? They have a road map, and if they deliver, which I think they will. The lifetime price of the builder is well worth it. You can make that money back by just designing one website.

Not really, some of my sites are in Divi already. I don't have the time or money to convert these existing sites to another builder. So 100% upgrading to life is well worth it.. So Mak's advice makes sense for me.. Most of Mak's followers would be Divi so it makes sense he would be advising this. It could make sense to start with a new builder if starting from scratch. Although even this, for me personally, I would still stay with Divi.

​@@sitekraftermaybe I am just not your target audience since I do not work with Divi. I have been following you to stay up-to-date with what's going on in the WordPress space outisde my own bubble. If your video was only intended for Divi fanboys who are not planning to leave the ecosystem no matter what, then of course they should have bought the LTD by now. For users that haven't used Divi yet and are looking for the best WP builder at the current time, then promoting Divi compared to all the other options just seems weird to me because Divi 4 is inferior to almost all other popular builders out there. Just my opinion. I just moved a website from Divi to Bricks and it was horrible to migrate all the content like you said ;-) I would have found your video much more convincing if you had shown some actual demo of the new Dev Beta (which might be awesome)

I agree, I wouldn’t think about converting my existing Divi sites to another platform. However, I think i will learn another more advanced program, like Framer or Webflow, to see what it they can do.

I tried webflow with some testing websites. They websites were not performant. At least not getting close to what I can achieve with Divi /WordPress.

HI. All that you says is true but DIVI is lack of offers in the past and today is the same when you compare the framework and lack of functionality with all the players in the market. Concerning the "lifetime licence" if, and say lowdly IF, in near futur pass over my mind that someone from DIVI ask for any payment about my lifetime licence I will be very dissapointed about lack of transparency because in the past 2 years the payment of a lifetime licence dont payoff my investiment concerning lack of some competitive offer that doesn`t exist nowadays. All those "lifetime licences" pay the DIVI and not the development as promise! Wait to see! ...
