Lyrics: Here I tread alone again Stayed too long with my regret I walk the road Although the path is set I hear a voice upon the wind A distant sound so paper thin It haunts my mind The things that could have been Still I wait searching for the past to find me Still I stand knowing that I must atone I will fight hoping I can break the fall I may not be the monster after all In time, memories erode A heart will turn to stone Not every fate is sewn Together 'till the end I hear the whisper in the night Pulling me towards the light Is this where our path begins? When destiny takes hold What will you do? Where will you go? The road you traveled isn't paved with gold The stories told And the heart of the night takes another You know it's there, you hear their call But how will you ensure that they won't fall Against the wall And the heart of the night takes another I was the line against danger's unknown But this battle is wearing me thin I saw the signs of a world over thrown Of a dark descending But there is no one, no one beside me No one who can see what I see I held on, held on But I can feel it slipping Now I see where this path has led As one starts, another ends When destiny takes hold What will you do? Where will you go? The road you traveled isn't paved with gold The stories told And the heart of the night takes another You know it's there, you hear their call But how will you ensure that they won't fall Against the wall And the heart of the night takes another What will you do? Where will you go? The road you traveled takes you far from home In the heart of the night We'll find a way towards the day That's shining brighter than the stars above Not giving up Won't let the heart of the night take another Won't let the heart of the night take another Won't let the heart of the night take another I can't wait knowing that the past has found me Here I stand knowing that the time has come I will fight knowing I can break the fall I may not be the monster after all

This song takes me back to the world of the Witcher. I can just imagine it, with this song in the background Geralt rides to the destination of his contract. As the song slow down he starts preparing for the fight and he sits down in his meditating pose and waits. And the monster emerge, Geralts open his eyes and the hook comes in. The fight ensues, it was hard fought but he does comes out on top. As he cut off the monster head he see corpse of the victims. He goes back to the village and report that there are no survivors but the monster is dead. The elder gave him his pay and the son of the dead villager speaks "Many thanks for avenging my father master witcher. Despite what's said about yer kind, yer might not be a monster after all". Geralts just nod and thought to himself, I may not be a monster after all. Thank you Divide. I was actually taken through a whole journey by this song. Truly amazing.

Lol any song that has a hurdy-gurdy and incorporates the lines "when destiny takes hold" and "The heart of the night takes of another" automatically qualifies as power metal, and I am 100% here for it. This was killer, from instrumentation to vocalizations to mixing. You destroyed it. Don't think I missed how you chose your melody based on classical scandinavian chord progression. Absolutely nailed it. Thank you for sharing this.
