Hey David, can you do a beginner beginner's vid on how to do basic things like what to put in your excel spreadsheets, how to get your franking credits, what to track as an investor... stuff like that :)
@Stinky56534 жыл бұрын
Very informative and thank you! Does this mean that you would usually buy more stock than usual (if dollar cost averaging) on or/and after the ex-dividend date? Given that some sell on the day or after price recovers a bit. Also, what is your opinion on HACK EFT (cybersecurity)?

Hello David, I just wanted to say thank you. I`m from Germany and trying to get a little overview over the australian market. Your Videos are the starting point from me. From a foreigners point of view your market is not easy to fully understand. It is quite different from the US and our own market. Tax issues make it even more difficult. For example I cannot use franking credits. If "witholding" tax is deducted that amount is lost to me, as far as it succeeds 15,5%. It is crazy, but between 1% to 15,5% it is a little advantage for me Untill now I have invested in spark infrastructure and rural funds group. I am looking for more. Thanks again for your videos and the great work. I wish you lots of succes. Christian

Correction for you David, you need to purchase shares the day before, NOT on the ex-dividend date (you've picked this up later in the video) This is also the day a share trades excluding the dividend, usually at a lower price. Otherwise great video!

Great video mate and was a well laid out overview 👏 What are your thoughts on high distribution yield ETF's like ASX: ETHI or ASX: HACK who both pay +10% distributions? It seems like these are a pretty intuitive option combining dividends + capital growth but surprised the market hasn't jumped on these more

Hi, WAM have a 6.7% fully franked div but also a grossed up amount of 9.5%. How is this grossed up amount calculated exactly?....and does every company on ASX gross up which is not reflected in the dividend yield? Can you find the grossed up amount on Commsec? Thanks.

Year-over-year inflation stood at 6.5% in December 2022-the lowest that figure has been in more than a year. Inflation was in line with what economists expected and gave many of them a reason to believe that the peak of inflation may be behind us. I have approximately $150k stagnant in my port_folio that needs growth. What is the best way to take advantage of this downturn?

My family and I are planning on dumping some cash into the market while its still decently low and our main worry is what would happen if something went wrong, since we plan on collectively investing a over 500k in a single family account, and the law only insures up to 500k.
