Dividing the Ummah in the Name of the Sunnah

This video is a basic outlook on some of the tactics some of the dividers of the Ummah use in order to unnecessarily create friction among Muslims in society. Sh. Ahmed Khater is a lecturer in Berkeley University, who has studied in Al-Azhar to the post-graduate level in Islamic studies. Sh. Mufti Muneer studied hadith to the post-graduate level at Medinah.

The world would be a much better place if all Muslims had the patience to sit down and speak and debate about their differences with solid background knowledge and an open mind. I really wish there was no such division in this beautiful religion.

As a traditional Hanafi Muslim I am actually pleased as to what the Mufti from Philly said. Hanafis are weary regarding salafis but this Mufti took a traditional approach to this problem of taking knowledge from mubtadi etc.

أخي محمد حجاب هذا قول الشافعي في المناظرة لأن الشيخ أخطأ في النقل قال الامام الشافعي ما ناظرت أحداً قط إلا أحببت أن يوفق ويسدد ويعان، ويكون عليه رعاية من الله وحفظه. وما ناظرت أحداً إلا ولم أبال بين الله الحق على لساني أو لسانه.

The major problem is these folks go around calling people mubtadi' on sometimes issues of fiqh, it is well known that it is unanimous amongst the Salaf that on fiqh one cannot do Tabdee'.....as Mufti Muneer said it has to do with lack of knowledge and people who can barely recite the Quran think they are in a position to do Tabdee', smh these guys are a barrier to the unity of this Ummah

Having studied in 4 different madaris, I was sick of this attitude, of throwing "others" under the bus. Even in something as civil as Sharh Maanil Athaar, wer the difference are known and agreed to be acceptable the attitude was differing was sick. Iktilaful ulama rahma seemed more like azab. But this video gives some hope. And one more by Shiekh Hasan Ali, "so who is right?"
