Having an old school speaker that works from wires rather than bluetooth is an effective safe way, have the speaker near or loud enough to hear, keep your phone as far from you as possible, a long cable will work. And for your final question about listening while working and doing other things, the subliminal will work 100%. They are designed so that you do not need to pay attention for it to work its magic..
