1:28:00 - for the First UTI in a child aged 2 to 24 months, you do an USG and then proceed to VCUG only if a structural abnormality is suspected, 2nd UTI warrants VCUG. In a child older than 2 years, you only need to observe if that is their first episode of UTI. Source - Uworld and Amboss

Amazingly helpful! Thanks so much. Just a quick note at 58:58; you could use propranolol for peri-orbital infantile hemangiomas to prevent vision loss (amblyopia). UWorld question i.d. 4404

if your audio doesn't work on your Mac.. Just go to your settings => accessibility => audio => turn off the "Play stereo audio as mono " and it works perfectly

For anyone else having audio issues, try this: Pair Bluetooth earbuds, but ONLY ONE earbud (not both). You should then be able to hear the audio Annoying, but it was the only thing i've tried so far that has worked

Ewing Sarcoma - if anyone remembers basketball from the 90s with Patrick Ewing - his Jersey number was 33. So 11+22 = 33. Therefore, Ewings Sarcoma is a t ( 11,22) translocation.

26:18, the most common cause of osteomyelitis in sickle cell is actually staph aureus, not salmonella
@doctorshlomo4113
@doctorshlomo4113 3 жыл бұрын
I think he is just pointing out the high yield associations. its staph aureus pretty much no matter what.
@Sveccha93
@Sveccha93 2 жыл бұрын
But in the USA, staph aureus only accounts for about 1/4th of osteomyelitis cases in SCD patients, with far more caused by salmonella and e coli among others.
@Dr.Aayushi
@Dr.Aayushi 5 ай бұрын
I confirmed the difference: The most common cause of osteomyelitis in patients with 'sickle cell disease' is Salmonella species. While Staphylococcus aureus is the most common cause of osteomyelitis in the 'general population', Salmonella is particularly prevalent in individuals with sickle cell disease.

@Dr.Aayushi
@Dr.Aayushi 5 ай бұрын
You're right. Generally, "newborns" with CF have elevated immunoreactive trypsinogen (IRT) levels due to the blockage of pancreatic ducts. However, in "older patients" with advanced CF or significant pancreatic damage, trypsinogen levels can be low.
