I am a traditionalist Roman Catholic, I was master of ceremonies for many years at my church, and it is clear to see the commonalities between the Roman and Coptic rites. We cover the chalice with a veil, and the pall (which was not always a stiff cloth card) covers the cup of the chalice. You seem to use a similar thing. This is different from the Byzantine Rite. We also make the sign of the Cross the same way, left-to-right. Our chants are also similar, with long melismas on certain vowels.
