Women and men sit on opposite sides in Coptic tradition?
@JK-jr1gs2 жыл бұрын
It’s more of arab influence on the coptic church, traditionally men and women sat together and in some churches we still see this

@@JK-jr1gs This is true, when the arabs invaded Egypt, they forbade men and woman to be seated togther

Fascinating, this looks like normal Orthodox (Greek) but with Islamic influence.... clearly the Greek Orthodoxy is the original one. After all, most of the apostles went there to write the Bible. Still in its own style so is the Coptic church fascinating.

No. Coptic Orthodox Church existed more than 500 years before the introduction of Islam. So, Islam was influenced by Coptic Orthodox practices and chants.

The coptic church was founded in the year 42AD by Saint Mark the Apostle and islam was founded around the year 610AD. We're not influenced by them, it is the other way around. And actually, if you look at your church's history more thouroguhly, you'll find that Greek orthdoxy was founded around 50AD by saint Paul, while the Coptic Church was founded 7 years before that, so acually the coptic church is the older and more "original" church out of the two
