Ill gladly take a full Rivethun video, so long as there's timestamps to split them up

I am extremely excited for this book. For the last few years I have had to constantly point players to various 1e sources because a lot of it just is spread out and this newer, slightly bigger, more specific format of omen book is what I think the omen series should be. Larger slightly more expensive, lore-filled books with a focus on reference (updates blocks from a - z in one place) a few class archetypes and a small list of spells in-between larger remakes and releases. This has a lot of those little tiny tid-bits I would have to point out were in the 1e sources especially about how followers act. Also yeah, Charg is awesome. Anything fleshy or from Leng are COOL, and yup its a pretty one-trick pony kind of place that Razmir run, reminds me a lot of Galt. It's interesting they decided to make it a archetype but I really like the concept of being a fake priest of razmiran trying to tithe and steal all the gold for the living god back home hahaha. I would prefer a longer video with timestamps and with the algorithm I truly do believe that longer videos and retention leads to more eyes overall in our niche.

Separate but equal videos to go over all the other options in more detail are good for both us and the YT algorithm.
@Zakiel974 күн бұрын
this book is looking very promising - always great to see the Razmiran priesthood make an appearance, I fell in love with that concept when I first saw their false healing schtick they had going in pathfinder 1st edition lmao. Curious to see how they work as occult casters now seeing as there is quite a bit of overlap on those spell lists, and well actual healing capabilities. On the Rivethun archetypes I would say giving each archetype it's own video might be better to optimize the coverage and searchability. The alternative would be a longer video with timestamps and personally I wouldn't mind that but it sorta depends on your audience, generally ttrpg nerds probably don't mind long form content but I could imagine that a 1.5h video could scare people off that just wanna get a quick rundown of any of these archetypes. My suggestion if you do split them into their own videos though would be making it a 4 part series, the first entry being a shorter introduction primer on the concept of that pantheon and why it gets 3 archetypes to get that stuff out of the way so you don't have to repeat yourself in every video, well atleast not that much. Each archetype having it's dedicated deepdive that people could give a quick watch and not be intimidated by a video essay on dwarfen ancestoral magic to me sounds more useful - but ngl it's your channel and 4 videos is way more work than 1 big one I imagine, so idk man check your analytics and see how longform videos have performed in relation to the smaller ones and make the call, either way I'm looking forward to it :)

I have been looking forward to this since it was announced, little sad it doesn't seem to cover my new favorite deity, The Lady of the North Star, but that is understandable given it is being 'written' by a Psychopomp. Looking forward to theory crafting some new characters, and I will have to build a Razmir Priest.

My main gripe with the book is that it doesn’t give tips on creating gods and pantheons. I think a chapter on this would make the book much more appealing to DMs who do not wish to run in Golarion
@mattsullivan24588 күн бұрын
Spoilers: any time you see a pf2 book with "Lost Omens" in the title, you are strictly getting content specifically for the Golarion campaign setting. That's their whole design philosophy for 2E
@slaapliedje7 күн бұрын
If you want an awesome book for creating your own pantheon, pick up a copy of GURPS Religion. It has a lot of information on belief systems and is generic enough to use for any system.
@slaapliedje7 күн бұрын
@mattsullivan2458 Ha, yeah Lost Omens is very much specific to Golarion, and quite frankly if you are playing in not-Golarion, I would suggest skipping the Lost Omens books
@nicholasromero2387 күн бұрын
@slaapliedje I actually get a lot out of lost omens books even though I don't play on golarion. They have a lot of story content that are easy to take inspiration from, and unlike other forms of creative writing, are actually made with the intent of helping you make a good ttrpg story
@slaapliedje7 күн бұрын
@nicholasromero238 Right, but it is a 'need' vs 'want.' If you are running your own campaign setting, sure you could get ideas from the Lost Omens books, but you could get them from pretty much anywhere.

Glad to hear the Rivethun are getting some much deserved love. Although, considering they were Animists before Animists, it also makes sense that they'd get some attention. ...Not so happy to see Razmiran's are getting their own archetype... mostly because I hate the kind of groups Razmir and his subordinates are based on.

As a PFS Champion main I am starting to feel severely left out. War of Immortals had virtually nothing for Champions other than the Exemplar dedication (which obviously isn't Champion-specific, just like all the other dedications that are really good for Champions) and ever since the news that the Litanies (one of the best Champion-specific option trees in the game) it's looking like we're going to get another rock from Paizo in Divine Mysteries.

Battle Harbinger still only gets master proficiency in their deity's favored weapon unless that was a typo.
@mattsullivan24588 күн бұрын
They get it at the same time as standard martials get master weapon proficiency, which is better than the warpriest, whom doesn't get master weapons until 17th level.

@@SteveMichael What are your critiques of the Pathfinder gods? Just curious.
@Gamma-Mage8 күн бұрын
Wait, so Shardra isn't an Animist in 2e? Surprised, since they named one of the practies shaman and she was the 1e iconic for shaman. Also the Battle Harbinger art is Oloch (the 1e iconic warpriest) for some reason pretending to not be a named character? Damnit, now I need to buy the Iconic Heroes figurine set that has Oloch and Zadim (the avenger) cause I like both archetypes so much.
@valvadis23608 күн бұрын
She could be, Rivethun Emissary seems to be a normal archetype not a class archetype
@Gamma-Mage7 күн бұрын
@@valvadis2360 Ah, I thought it might be a cleric archtype like battle harbinger. Thnaks for the info. At any rate they seem to be trying to depict animism/shamanism more realistically than the typical fantasy portrayal of them. And 1e shaman was a bit of a mess, witch/orcale but it had druid spells in there too. Maybe she'd actually work better as a primal witch/ Rivethun emmisary.
