It's astonishing how clear the water is deeper into the cave. The chambers are absolute marvels of beauty, but I almost find it eerie how lifeless it is. My gut tells me that there should be fishes taking shelter in the stalactites and crustaceans feeding off of moss patches, even though I rationally know that there wouldn't be any reason for anything to be there.

Sure thing! Most of the mexico caves are pretty shallow. According to my log, it was 3 hours and 11 minutes at a max depth of only 45 feet. So no deco or anything.

I went inside a cenote for the first time yesterday and man is it clear and very fresh water Chichén Itzá was amazing but the cenote was sooo so nice if you ever visit Yucatán I recommend you go to one

On television everything has to fit into a half hour or an hour slot. The nice thing about KZbin is that videos can be any length you want. So we let the video be how ever long it takes to tell the story. We have some Blue World episodes that are 6 minutes. Our longest one is 42 minutes. We just let them be what they want to be.

Well, last time it was dry was 10,000 years ago. And there are definitely some caves in the Yucatan that show evidence of human habitation that long ago, so it's possible.
