Hey, nice video. I enjoyed it. Great camera handling. Your freedom of movement while free diving is excellent. I can see that you can move more quickly than a scuba diver. Thanks for identifying the species. What camera did you use and did you use a filter? Keep up the nice work.

@OceanEarthGreen2 жыл бұрын
@@xfhnhhgjbvcfg Thank you. Checkout Chankanaab which is to the south about 1 mile from Money Bar. You can swim there from the closest free beach to the north or pay to use their facilities for the day. I always do the free way. I did a video on it also. It's a cool spot.

Man you must have gills to fill so much from near the bottom of the reef. Nice scenes though I am used to heavier concentraton of coral in other locations such as Belize.
@OceanEarthGreen Жыл бұрын
Thank you, yeah here it's spread out in only a few locations. Where is a good place to shore dive in Belize ?
@jimrichard5535 Жыл бұрын
@@OceanEarthGreen I don't know where to shore dive in Belize. We stayed for a week at a private Island with over the water cabanas and the snorkeling there was great and it was not expensive to do. Also could go out fishing for huge fish for almost nothing from there. Recommended but I don't have their info anymore. In Mexico mainland Akumal is fun for the turtles and Yal Ku cenote park on the ocean.

Great stuff! What are your favorite shore snorkeling spots there?
@OceanEarthGreen3 жыл бұрын
on the North end of the island, from El Cozumeleno to Westin. The ship wreck at playa casitas near centro. Chankannab going South and Money, Sky Reef and Playa Corona going south. All these are my favories.

Did you have to pay to get in this park? I'm looking for the least expensive way to be underwater most of the time while I'm there next week. And how deep is this area?
@OceanEarthGreen3 жыл бұрын
Out on this part of the island, it's wide open. you can access the water almost anywhere without having to pay unlike closer to centro or going to the north end of the island. The water is pretty shallow close to shore for a while until you get about 60 to 100 yards from shore, but that's where the coral clusters begin and where most of the fish are. Within 100 yards of shore ranges from 5' to 20' then there is a big drop off where it gets real deep quick. It's at this drop off where most of the cool stuff is at. Luckily most of the cool stuff is at the top of the drop off, not the bottom. Unfortunately at the Money Bar, there isn't alot to see close to shore but it's a beautiful beach. I highly recommend exploring Sky Reef first which has amazing corals and life right at shore and 100 yards off shore. From Sky Reef, explore southbound. I did a video on sky reef also if you want to see the terrain.I would recommend going to sky reef first, then Money Bar second choice and if you have more time, explore Chankanaab which you can either pay to use their beach and facilities for the day or access it from the ocean from the south for free. Enjoy !

How far we need to swim in order to see coral?
@OceanEarthGreen Жыл бұрын
you’ll notice a rope and floaters blocking off a portion of the water area from boats. start at one end of the rope and follow it across as it goes right over the best parts. it’s about 100 yards from shore.
