it’s infested with bacteria or has so many chemicals that it’s stagnant still water in which you can see particles on top or your shadow without moving don’t swim in it
@NoName-yb4pm8 ай бұрын
I don’t know though? Did you see the natural spring going down into the mine?
@audreysalazar30218 ай бұрын
@@NoName-yb4pm sorry i just saw this, it doesn’t matter stagnant water is a sign of chemicals or bacteria infested water. even if there’s natural spring water going in it’s becoming stagnant as soon as it joins the rest of the water which means the chemicals or the bacteria is much greater than the fresh water

I dont get it shouldn't it be extremely dangerous to dive in that water? Bc of bacteria? the guy seams fine and other divers also went down there based on some comments. I keep reading how dangerous still water is so how is he just diving there

I climbed down the ladderway to the bottom of that now flooded chamber while the mine was still working. There was a huge in situ diamond saw cutting machine at the very bottom. Clearly this was removed before abandonment and consequent flooding. This isn't the first time that this chamber's been dived. This, as well as other adjacent chambers, were first dived in 2019-2020. Others have dived them since as well. (There are a number of videos on KZbin documenting these much earlier diving explorations.) The so called 'explosives stores' are the remains of an earlier dust extraction system. The now perched trolley was, for many years, on the landing area at the top of the chamber until some disrespectful vandals pushed it into the chamber itself. The mine closed permanently in 2003.

@VikingExploration60 Жыл бұрын
The camera is a SLR pretty much the same as I use, but it is held inside a waterproof case that cost upwards of £2k, the massive lens on the front you see is not the camera lens but a big giant glass sphere, the actual camera lens is behind that sphere.

@VikingExploration60 Thanks for the explanation, the lighting is no doubt another factor in the clarity of the footage as well we know in the mines.

Really interesting exploration and cool that you share it! However, no matter the diver's experience level... it was a freaking risky solo dive. You perhaps knew well what used to be down there, but diving alone in a previously not dived mine doesn't seem overly responsible to me... and really not when simultaneously operating a camera rig! Modern well-serviced equipment is fairly reliable, but unexpected stuff can still happen... besides gear failure the diver can get entangled, or perhaps create a siltout from the exhaled gas (since Guy was diving on open circuit). Guy didn't even have a stage bottle as a fully independent source of breathing, just his back gas in his doubles. I didn't see any line attached to the surface before descending (although Guy carried a large exploration reel with him). I also wonder whether anyone around besides the diver was trained in rescue procedures. To me this seems to go against too many best practices in diving safety.
