DIVING INTO IU FOR THE FIRST TIME | Lost Child, BBIBBI, Celebrity & Blueming!

I too first discovered and fell completely in Love with IU from her acting. Specifically her performance in My Mister, where I went to bed after each episode worrying about her. It was after watching that drama that I found out she was actually 1st and foremost a singer. I was nervous about actually hearing her sing as I knew nothing of kpop and didn't want to not like her voice or music. However, there was no need to worry on either count. Here are a few IU pointers to assist you in your IU music journey. 1- IU started writing most of her own songs around 2014 when she took over greater control of her music. This marked the end of her cutesy phase, which had started right after her debute song Lost Child, didn't ho over well with kpop fans because it was to dark. The MV was held back b/c of this and released 2 years later after she achieved national stardom with Good Day. The MV really has nothing much to do with the actual song lyrics. As the song is about her breaking up with a boy and trying to get over him. 2 - All IU's MV since 2014 are full of metaphors and symbolism that add depth and meaning to the story she is telling. Everything in an IU MV is there with a purpose. The most complex of her MV's is BBIBBI, fellow youtuber Tors1e has one of the best explanation videos of BBIBBI as she comes from a drama background and she points out things and explains things going on in the MV that no one else catches and it shows I's incredible creative talent. And her song Eight is next. It is actually about her struggles in dealing with the death of 3 friends from suicide. All 3 are represented in the MV (hint the girl in White is Sulli one of her closest friends that had just appeared in Hotel Del Luna as the daughter of the hotel CEO. 3- IU is one of the very rarest of artist who actually sounds before live, therefore listening to her live performances is a must. Her MV's provide depth and meaning to her songs and require one to think about what she is actually saying, cause chances are the real message is much deeper than what you think. For example her song Coin, which is way under appreciated in my opinion, isn't actually about casino's or that type of gambling, but rather her gambles in exploring different musical styles and breaking the "rules" of Kpop and the resistance she had to fight through. In 2014 the New York Times wrote an article saying that IU was leading the way to the future of kpop. Then in 2018 they produced a list of the 25 top musical artist that are having the greatest impact on culture. IU was listed at no.9. 4- IU is much h more then the sum of her talents, abilities and beauty. She has this super power to touch and heal the souls of people. Not everyone gets it and I always feel sad for them. And it is a shame that she remains so busy in Korea that she hasn't yet toured outside southeast Asia. I know she doesn't have to, but yet the rest of the world needs to have the chance to experience this amazing person. 5- Best way to get to know IU's music is through her performance on Dingo Music's Killing Voice where she performs live a melody of songs from her 20's. There are a number of great songs not included in the DM melody. They include Love Poem special live clip, My Sea and Dear Name.

I also discovered IU in her fabulous acting in SCARLET HEART RYEO 6 years ago. And yes I've been a big fan of her up until now. I never thought of liking one specific person/soloist this long. I loved every songs, videos, and dramas of her ♡ also every UAENA fanmade in socmed around the universe. IU is someone that everyone's need to idolize/admire. She's a role model. She's a wonderful singer. She's a pro song-writer. She's an outstanding actress. She's a QUEEN.♡

Milo, “Lost Child” or “Mia” drew a lot of hate for debut and was considered a failure. The MV was admittedly macabre, and by paternalistic men of kpop especially, was seen as inappropriate for a 15 year old… she was given and made best of bubblegum type songs until her breakout hit, Good Day, when she won her artistic freedom to write and help produce her own work… Lost Child, was great song, in my opinion, and the following live and orchestral version seems like such a comeback to the haters… must see kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmKTeZd8a959fa8 On some of her small productions and KZbin content, she pays notices about missing children notices that often confuse reactors
