So I went to the high school that won the Katy Perry concert contest and honestly the whole experience was wild. We had to film this music video with a camera running down halls filled with people which meant we had to listen to "Roar" on loop for like days. Everyone hated the song by the end. When we actually won we got to have a concert in our school which seemed super cool at first but 1. it was at like 6 am, before school started, 2. It was our entire school crammed into a gym not really built to hold literally all of us and 3. We are in Colorado so Katy had trouble dealing with the altitude. Not too bad she just got really tired while doing a lot of jump roping. And then when it was over school started. The school has framed versions of katys albums all over and plays the song every fucking chance they get. Im sure we mostly won cause our mascot was a tiger and fit the theme of roar.

It absolutely amazes me that a grown person, with a daughter of their own, would get scammed by a company ran by a mega corporation who used the face of a 16/17 year old girl who’s been sexualized and demonized by pretty much everyone strictly because she’s a popular talented young girl who’s also had her nude pictures leaked which is pretty much just sexual assault, and then have the immediate response of “that bitch! That incredibly stressed and probably sleep deprived 17 year old must be running this company! How dare she act like a teenager! She’s supposed to cater to my personal and political views and the fact that she’s had these scandals is entirely her fault and has nothing to do with the media who’ve tried their best to expose every little bit of her personal life! >:(“

Preach! Omg i got so angry at that part. Also I think the “revealing” photo was released in 2008, which would make Miley only 15. Its baffling to me how grown women who have their own children,probably not that much younger, could have such a reaction. Miley obviously was just an object to make a lot of money. And I mean a LOT. She was used. I feel bad for her now thinking back on it. Also there were people, adults, maybe parents themselves, who took that photo and published it. They obviously didn’t see a problem with it. But sure, put the blame and shame on the fifteen year old.

Yeah which is why as an adult the stigma on Disney stars is bullshot and they're people too and shouldn't act how you think they should because they worked for a company

If I had known this existed, I totally would have been a member lol. I had multiple Miley Cyrus books, I had nail polish and makeup (that I recently found hidden away. It was just as cheap as you expect. The nail polish was literally just glue), I even had a Miley Cyrus themed birthday party where my parents set up a photo shoot area with my dad's guitars and my mom on makeup and hair. I'm surprised I didn't know about this fan site until now

I went to the Best Of Both Worlds tour, too, when I was 11 or 12! My dad was part of the crew; He’s a grip that Miley’s team had hired to set up and maintain the stage build. I remember getting to see my dad waving at me right above Hannah Montana, because he was fixing the lighting mid show. Still a favourite memory. It’s honestly too long ago to remember, but when you mentioned that tickets for the shows would sell out that fast it made me think if crew members also get first access. Hmm.

I never knew about mileyworld until one day my mom handed me the plastic membership card and was like so I signed you up for the miley cyrus fan club cause I thought I'd be able to get tickets to her concert but i couldnt but like do you wanna go anyway and just do the stuff outside. Because outside the arena they had a whole stage set up with fan performances and other things. I just look back at the whole thing being kind of weird. I think about it now and realize how badly my mom must have wanted and tried to take me to this concert I dont even remember distinctly asking to go to (I was still to young to truly understand touring schedules and how concerts worked). We did see the concert movie though. It was fun.

Yo I remember seeing the best of both worlds concert IN 3D in theaters and honestly that was so immersive I remember the confetti falling from the screen to my seat at the end and I think? Joe jonas may have been in that movie? Iconic is all I could say.

I remember this situation. My friend was telling me a friend of hers couldn’t get tickets to this concert with an AMEX black card. It was supposed to get the ungettable. These tickets were insanely difficult to get.

Fun video as always! However, I usually listen to Amanda's videos in the background while doing something else, but I was watching this one this time. Is she usually this stunning? It was mesmerizing to watch.

This excitement over specifically niche interests is what I live for! I'd love more content like this. And it made me think about my childhood connection with "the mermaid section of youtube". Specifically "Mermaid Miracles". I was so sad when the Google+ page and community was deleted. I screen-recorded it so that I could make a similarly niche video like this one... And then I never did.

Never was allowed to join anything when I was younger since my mother was overprotective. However, now that I'm older and work I have a paid membership for BTS which did allow me to get soundcheck tickets and pre-sale tickets to their last sold out concert tour (which is currently postponed due to the current events). But 29.95 is nothing to what I pay for a year.; just last year it came out to 155.00 I believe that's not included the extra merch I buy that's drops regularly. I may have a small problem but I'm enjoying and doing everything that I couldn't do as a teen.

My friend used to play on Miley World and here’s what I can remember: There was a competition on the site for members to upload a Michael Jackson tribute video, and the winner was a girl who did a tribute to “Thriller” and she had zombie makeup and stuff like that. Also I remember it being a HUGE deal when Miley Cyrus herself was online, and I’m pretty sure you would get an alert when it happened and everyone freaked out when it did.

I remember being 15-16 years old when Hannah Montana aired in my country (European country). Also I remember that I used to LOVE singing along to the Hannah Montana concerts snippets from Disney Land (or Disney World?) that they put in between their shows. Now that I am seeing this video these snippets may have been from those concerts! I remember her singing "Nobody's perfect" in a grey dress and singing some other songs in a pirate ship (?). I remember this because around that time my voice (male) was changing (puberty), I went from being able to belt out Hannah's songs to having multiple breakdowns because I sounded like a dead pig from hell while singing along to her songs. It was physically impossible for me to sing in the original key anymore. Very traumatizing.

I remember when i was in Primary school i used to only hang out with guys (i'm a girl) so basically i thought everything that is considered girly is lame. I distinctly remember not going to a girls birthday party cause it was hannah montana themed and well i was just to cool for that kinda stuff. Come 4 years later i'm 12 and in middle school and there is just nothing to watch so i started to watch hannah montana, i became Obsessed 😂and like now that i'm 17 i recently found out my best friend has been watching this stuff ever since we were like 5 (he also pretended to hate it and didn't go to that birthday) so we just fangirled together and binged watched it for nostalgia. lol great timing amanda 😂 Edit: I don't live in America and we didn't have things like the website, so when i say obsessed i just mean rewatching the show a BUNCH of times and reading fanfictions ... like who tf reads fanfics about hannah montana 😂.

I'm so glad this video popped up in my recommended, sometimes I think I hallucinated the whole thing haha. I remember having the membership card and carrying it around in this pink bedazzled wallet all the time and thinking it was the coolest thing ever. In terms of the actual website, my most distinct memories are with the chatroom system. People used to roleplay as celebrities or original characters (most commonly in high school settings) all the time. I truly think Miley World roleplay servers are why I enjoy creative writing so much today. I remember someone trying to convince me that they were actually Demi Lovato and I felt so proud of myself for not falling for it -- but then days later someone promised me a bunch of Webkinz gear if I gave them my account information and they stole it :( I was probably only 8 or 9 at the time, so can you blame me? What a fun throwback. Side note: Glad we can all relate Miley World to the awkward not-yet-a-divorce-kid period.
@ivypng Жыл бұрын
sorry this is 2 years later but i've been looking for anyone who talks about the chatrooms just to make sure i also didnt hallucinate the whole thing. i remember it was a war in itself to be able to claim a main character to roleplay as so most of us would be side characters, siblings or made up background characters XD

Back in the 90s, little 8 or 9 year old me was a frequent participant in an unofficial Spice Girls chat room. I befriended a user who told me she was Baby Spice and would complain that most people never believed her. She was most CERTAINLY not Baby Spice, but, trusting child that I was, I believed her. This only went on for a week or two, but it is SHOCKING that I didn't get kidnapped or axe-murdered or something.
