thx alot. i did alot of dives in Raja Ampat, also as a guide. I can just tell you, it really depends on the diving operator you choose on how good is the experience u gonna have. i have bad news. just one week ago, one England based cruise destroyed the coral area of 13.000 square meters around waigeo island just because the stupid captain couldnt wait until high tide, and stupid local goverment gave permit for very big cruise to enter the coral area. for some, it might be not big area, but for Raja Ampat that i love dearly, it hurts me to the core reading the news. damn, why people like to destroy nature. shame shame shameeeee.

I snorkeled Crossover Reef before and after the ship grounded there. The fact is, it was already mostly dead before the ship hit it, and afterwards, I couldn't identify the new damage, so all the hype and protests around that ship are based on a false reality. The ship grounding was an inexcusable 'accident', but the real damage is being done to Raja Ampat by anchors, divers - especially macro photographers, bomb fishing, the crown of thorns starfish, bleaching and water pollution.
@fer17337 жыл бұрын
I have been several times in R.A. and this guy is saying the real problem there. Also, the local homestays boats arriving to the beaches are destroying a lot of coral... A LOT OF every day in every beach... the jetties building, plastic burning etc etc.... It is very very sad and i have not watched anything about conservation or water patrols... Where is the entry fee money? I hope that the local people think well and they will try to conserve the environment or R.A. will be the next Maldives. Coral already gone from surface to 12 meters of deep.

The jewel and pride of every West Papuans. Today West Papua is an Indonesian colony. Colonialism is illegal under international law. West Papua has a legal right to be free.For more information on West Papua, check out the youtube below.The Act of free Choice, 1969, was a violation of the right of self-determination held by the West Papuan peoples under international law and does not justify Indonesian sovereignty over West Papua. Indonesia’s presence in West Papua is illegal and that this illegality is the basis for continuing conflict in West Papua. There should be a proper act of self-determination in accordance with international law, to settle finally the international status of West Papua. Indonesia’s presence in West Papua is that of a colonial administration which can be made permanent only if the peoples of West Papua vote for integration through a self determination exercise held in accordance with the procedural requirements of international law. The only self-determination exercise has been the invalid act of free choice held in 1969 which does not authorise Indonesia’s presence in West Papua and cannot legally convert Indonesia’s administrative responsibility to sovereignty. Indonesia’s acquisition of West Papua in 1969 remains an illegal annexation which cannot be validated by the international community since it was a violation of the sacred trust under the UN Charter. Since the acquisition cannot be validated, West Papua is not legally a part of Indonesia’s territory but a non-self-governing territory under occupation. Independence for West Papua would be the restoration of Papuan sovereignty and not a violation of Indonesia’s territorial integrity. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioXZpKOuo9Sog7s
