I don't ever really comment on videos, but this song touched my heart. I was a son who was the victim of domestic violence and an overall hard father son relationship. Sometimes after my dad was done with one of his huge freak outs I would just lay there. Sometimes he would come back sad and shameful, he held me and apologized. I felt so loved, I felt his warmth for which I wanted so bad. To my naive child mind everything seemed perfect now. It's like this song is an embodiment of those sorrowful memories. Brought tears to my eyes. Today I am a dad and am driven to be the best and most loving dad I can be.

It's never explicitly stated, but given Lucien's past, it could be inferred this is either about his sons Alexander or Damien, or both. God, poor Lucien. First his son falls to chaos demons and he's forced to banish Damien to hell, then watches the Pantheon he served for years forsake Rivellon as soon as the void becomes a problem. Then he tries to take all the source back to patch the veil and banish the void, believing it to be the only permanent solution, but realizes he has to kill countless innocent people in order to do it, one of them being his only remaining son. Tragic stuff.

@TheUhhoh7 жыл бұрын
+unownedx I agree with your interpretation... That being said, unless the OP has played both Divinity and Divinity 2: Ego Draconis, its unlikely that he actually knows who Damian is. You have to keep in mind, a lot of new players we're introduced to this franchise via Original Sin and have never played the original Divinity series, thus for the sake of that I will offer a brief explanation for anyone interested. Spoilers For Divine Divinity and Divinity 2: Ego Draconis follow Damian is the adopted son of Lucian and also the incarnate of Chaos; roughly the opposite of The Divine, demon born in human flesh. He is the main antagonist of Divinity 2: Ego Draconis and leads the Black Ring on its conquest of Rivellon after the Divine - once again - disappears without a trace. He and his father never got along, and the real tragedy of Damian lies in the fact that it is heavily implied that he actually wasn't inherently evil; it was his father's actions trying to protect him from himself and his lover that lead to him eventually going dark side.
@bennemeth6256 жыл бұрын
