Divinity Original Sin EE Source Temple - The Maze to Get In!

So this is a video tutorial on how to get your butt through the bull**** gates and traps surrounding the Source Temple Entrance. That's right, the part BEFORE entering the Source Temple. Hope this helps and yes, this is for the Enhanced Edition!

I'm a seasoned RPG player, playing this after many hundreds of hours of BG3. I think I never gave up so quickly on a "puzzle" like this. I like OS:EE as the prototype of the future games Larian would publish, but I really, really don't enjoy the pyramid mechanics nor all the random puzzles without any sort of real clue about them. Dude, thank you so much! I didn't know what to do and kept wandering around until I saw you kill the totem. So I went and killed it and realized it had stood on grass rather than those trap plates, and another grass patch was just under a lever. That was enough for my brain to start working again.

Thanks for the video - just a hint for the gauntlet: You can teleport the statue away to get rid of the first trapped section and you can teleport the metal crate onto the (maybe not visible, but you will find the spot) traps in the second trapped section - saving you quite a lot of time teleporting people back and forth

Same for the turning statues - just teleported them out of the room, which means they no longer can spot me (but they still seem to rotate but the game does not longer render it correctly). In the last room I then just teleported the statue onto the lava trap, which kinda disables it, but allowed me to stand on the switch.

uh, I just used rogue teleport on the other side of the gauntlet and completely bypassed it. Then I couldn't find my way into the frozen button! Cheers for the statue puzzle solution. I was stuck!

Thanks do much for this video. It is the best source of information on this quest for the Enhanced Edition! I had all of it done up to the series of gates (1st 2nd 3rd state lever section)....as mentioned, could use a little editing on this tutorial but all the information is here. Overall I thought this was a pleasant experience to watch for a quest that is rewarding once finished yet very tortuous and not too fun...glad it is over lol!

just finished this, slightly different: you can also throw cooking pots on the lava traps. this works most anywhere. then you can walk by the sentinels with all party members on the lever changing part (minus the one pulling the lever elsewhere). on the last maze part, you can teleport the sentinel onto the lava trap, or the actual switch. that's why there's teleportation scrolls on the blue pillar in this room. to get in that door / room without teleporting someone, place a wooden box on the blue pillar right outside the gated door. then another on the stone that goes *click* in that same area / room, but on the opposite side. the gate will open and all party members can go in. you dont need to use any barrels in here. just teleport the sentinel. on the 3rd maze trap, you can throw a pyramid on the upper left hill by the statue, right outside the gated room, and you'll teleport right into the gate key room, in the upper lefthand corner. but you need to be outside to pick it up again. just open it with the key. i never teleported a companion in this quest.

Luckly they realize this mistakes and fix this kind of hellish puzzles in DOS2, so i would still recommend it to you. I played DOS2 first, then i went to play this game, and many times i was so close to quit cause of so many pointless and frustrating puzzles.

Thanks this was helpful. Though with Cloak&Dagger (teleport skill of Scoundrel) you can just jump over the outer gate(guarded by a demon) and never have to go into the Gauntlet. Also there is a button to open the gate leading to Earth button. so you didn't have to teleport over it.

On the last one with the Sentinel starring in one place,you don't have to stack barrels front of it,all you have to do is throw the barrel on top of the button and it will click and open the door. But thank u for the help 😁

Some small notes. During the gauntlet after 3rd gate in the lava only room is a box you can throw onto the trap to stem the lava in half the room. Second note at 30 mins in you could just throw a barrel on the switch instead of all the line of sight stuff. Other than that super helpful.

Alternative (much simpler) method to get to the fire switch ... a path leads to the gate (the one he runs down) that is closed closer to the switch. Going up it starts a fight with a void demon, after killing it just teleport a character over that gate and back.

At the lava around 16:00 you can just use the barrels and crates to throw on the lava traps instead of teleporting. Otherwise thanks for the help. Currently working my way through EE.

For anyone watching this, Cloak and Daggers spell, Winged feet, Invisibility (Scoundrel) and Trap disarm will save you a lot of troubles. If you're invisible, Sentinels wouldn't notice you and you can disarm the traps. Winged feet also does the trick, but for the lava. Use arrows to trigger the traps (fire, water... etc) if you ran out of Trap disarm toolkits.

During the gauntlet section, you can use the levers to disable the sentinel's invulnerability, then you can kill it and you dont have to worry about the lava. I dont remember which lever state it is but its not hard to figure out

On the lava part there is a metal crate arround, move it with telekinesis and put it on the lava, it ll stop the trap so you can walk pas it

You can skip the entire gauntlet / fire switch section by teleporting a party member through the other gate, saves a lot of time and hassle.

Well you could do it this way but i found it incredibly easy to just destroy the totem cast the rogue skill winged feet then stroll over and pull the switch..your rogue should have it anyway but i have on on every character because it lets you walk on lava.. Great video though...

This is such a rewarding game, but also tedious, unforgiving and confusing in parts. A few alterations could greatly improve it. For example the random traps that do insane damage are annoying. Also the way you can resurrect party members is not well integrated. You need this one very specific scroll all the time.
