Chrissy and band at full punk. This is still one of my favourites all this time later.

Pretty fantastic. Amazing rocker, Chrissy has left an amazing legacy as a rock and roll singer. She certainly was great at her job

I touch myself is a hit song but their older stuffs are way better and more rock and roll, that blew me away. BTW Chrissy is my platonic love

Yep, this is the Divinyls in all their crazy glory. Loved them, loved Chrissy's stage persona and can't understand why they chose to pretty her up for "I touch Myself". Nope, this is the real deal. RIP Chrissy.

This is my favorite female rock vocal performance, from the sexiest female in rock history! :)

@ Warren552011........You're quite right of course, one can only wear a school uniform/tunic for so long. (And of course it would look absurd as she aged). It just bothers me that so many people seem to believe that "I Touch Myself" was the be all and end all of The Divinyls, when nothing could be further from the truth.

I think the Aussie version of this album with Old Radios, Talk Like the Rain, Para Dice and What a Life is the definitive version of the album. That track listing makes for a much more oddball, interesting and exciting album. But I do think the American version of Desperate is the definitive version-including Boys in Town, Only Lonely and Elsie makes it an absolute classic.

I dont like Paradice too much though. What album was Sahara Rock on?
@rohansmith25713 жыл бұрын
@@johnnymfan5065 Sahara rock was on the Aussie version of desperate and it Rocked ! They often played it live at the hight of the mayhem.

"I Touch Myself" is very overrated if you know the early Divinyls. Just because it made the charts doesn't make it better than their superb early work.

Why has this song been removed from the album?
@tezzanewton5 жыл бұрын
Warren552011 hmm. I’m in Australia and I taped the album from my friends vinyl back in the 80s and this song was on it. It’s a bummer cos I really like this song. I remember being a teen watching Chrissy in those school uniforms, man she drove me crazy.

Warren552011 thanks for the info mate, maybe I’ll get lucky and find a good second hand one.

One reason I've heard is the missing tracks on the CD re release are due to a conflict with the Producer of those songs..
@lesgl5 жыл бұрын
@Warren552011 Fair enough...hopefully one day it will come out on CD..i was lucky enough to get a mint copy of the lp 10 odd years ago and have the cassette as well

These old songs from What a Life that weren't put on the murkan version (stupid seppos) are WAY better than I Touch Myself. Overrated feminist bullcrap that song is.
