Division 2: Can Skill Compensate For Build In Multiplayer?

I used to play solo most of the time, when I started playing in groups I realized that my great solo builds weren't that good in a group. So, I changed most of my builds to make them better to play in groups, to help the team by giving them buffs through gear, skills or spec bonuses.

I am so glad you made this video! I also like to run a lot of random match made missions. I inspect the people that I'm running with and it utterly kills me when I come across someone who picked certain gear piece only because it had good attributes on it but the gear piece itself does absolutely nothing for the build. And these are players who are in their upper thousands margin. I run a lot of CC builds and you would be surprised at just how many people have left a match mid mission because they think I'm trying to get all the kills because my build can hold a group of NPC's at bay. It would be nice if people would put more time into understanding build make-ups and how not just certain talents but all the talents actually worked they'd probably have even more fun playing the game.

I actually put together a couple years ago a 100% hazard protection build using 5.11, just to use the Backfire. It was good/fun for playing solo, but that build is gone and I haven't used Backfire since then.

​@@DodRegnbuewell I used to use 5 11 for 100% haz prot. That was before tu10, but nowdays we got cavalier, uzina and ninjabike to get 100% haz prot much easier and give better bonuses along the way. 5 11 has gotten obsolete

I always try out your builds to see how they fit with my play style. Some are good enough that I will learn to play better so I can (MELT) enemies Lol…but it is amazing how good I thought a bad build was before I tried your build like Strikers/coyote or HF/coyote and saw how fast I killed any enemy (I play on challenging) those builds cemented my faith in your videos!! Thanks for your time devoted to putting out quality content. Like another KZbinr says “you tell us what we need to hear not what we want to hear”!

I think there's definitely a component of what your build actually does and how it benefits your team. Simultaneously, however, I think part of the skill gap in Legendary content, at least from my experience, is people's confidence in the situation. Often times I'll have legendary missions where half the team is just hiding in the back, barely shooting anything because they got hit once and lost all their armor and now they're spooked. So I think skill isn't just about the ability to aim well and maneuver well, but also to just have the ability to act and not be a brainless potato dragged along by the rest of the team.

For me though, I do not mind failing 10, 20 times. As long as people try, learn from it and change up their strategies. Sure, Legendary eneies hurt, find a way around it.

So...speaking about the 5.11...why? I'm beyond the fact that he made it work for him...the point more importantly is what benefit does he think he's getting?? The only thing - to my knowledge - that he could think is " hey, I'm going to throw a sh** build together and succeed inspite of my build". Yes that does go to him as a player to have the knowledge and skill to do it. But it doesn't cover why he (essentially) handicapped himself. I'm curious.

Simply, I dared him. I dared him to complete a Solo Legendary Mission with 6 Piece 511 and Bullet King. He joined in with us on this mission for the Exo cache incase someone got Bullet king as he does not have one, and he thought running the 511 build here would be funny. It also served the purpose for the topic at hand.

A lot of videos the last 2 days, and i mean A LOT. I hope you don't feel forced to "deliver as much as possible" because that's not the case. So I will give you a friendly advice: "Don't get a burnout... it's not good for your health 😉" Anyway... these topics are more than welcome though, because a lot of videos out there are all about single player builds and tactics, and therefore no group scaling is involved. But the scaling is harsh and we need to adapt. I joined a lot of Agents (often below SHD level 100) on heroic with 4-5 directives activated clueless, only thought about the xp. And even on heroic, the recent global event plus 4-5 directives can take you pretty fast off guard, if you don't know what you are doing... esspecialy if you think you do know, but you don't (it's not a shame though). So it's a good thing to spread the knowledge. At least some good basics.... and a good build is always the first step to success Liked (😊) and liked (👍) the video.

Not at all. I hbave one slot left for a build on my Multiplayer Character, with the introduction of Perfect Galvenise, I know what build I want there. So, I wanted to get my experience of group play out there before showing my group play builds, which may or may not help. The problem is, I have no clue when I will get this backpack.

I am playing at level 2200 and almost never worry whether I carried my weight cause I am protecting and playing with 5xx-800 level players, and I come in at dead last or 2nd to dead last in kills, so what? They had a fun time and I gained one or two levels per mission and I am wearing a coyote mask for group play.

After watching it back it does look incredibly scripted. It honestly wasn't. We just listened to the player with the most experience, Ronon, who spent about 3 months just exclusively playing Legendary Roosevelt. Snipers Warhounds first as they keep the others CC'd and allows time for you Cooldown to reset. 2nd Spawn is Right of Scaffholding at the far end, 3rd spawn is tot he right of the exit. Ravenous + Striker'sm done.

I get the military mindset. I have it too and I feel like it goes against the majority of the player base. Meh. Most of the time I feel what I'm saying is exemplified by people using memento builds in a group. Be a fucking team player. I seriously think massive screwed up when they added that stat thing at the end of missions, becsuse it encourages people to just chase numbers. Half the team with he league speed runs I will just run straight to the door/next interaction and not shoot a thing if the group is doing well. Where you risk falling out of touch with reality is you are regularly playing with the top percentile of players on PC. Most of us aren't.

Build and Expertise Rank is a huge huge factor in this game, it doesn't matter how good you're if someone has 20+ Expertise and maxed roll gear there is no stopping them with your bad roll famas and 5 Expertise.

Expertise only works out to about 8%. It is not as big as people think it is. In the case of people like Ronon, Rise of Brotality, they are just theat good.

Issue here is, define "good". In my opinion no. Ninja Bike Bag is compeltely not worth it on so many builds, that being said, St Elmos does allow for a more stable output, so if you do decide to use the Bag, Elmo's is your best weapon.

It is foremost a number based ARPG. Not the tactical shooter Div1 announced in the beginning. If skill is knowledge about ingame mechanics (and how to apply it), ok. In the end, PVE is 80% rehearsal.
