Nice breakdown, as always. Been running this for a while now - China Light mask, 3 piece Empress (inc. Caesars Guard), Contractors (non-unicorn), and a Wyvern backpack w/Shock & Awe. I've found it works well in Solo and Groups. Will have to start looking for those Grupo pieces to give it a go 🙂

Rigger should be baby’s first mortar build, endless uptime and can put in all dmg as long as you have the backpack

its a great build and it is definately a welcome addition in a legendary group. but to fix your seeker mine issue, make sure you have the turret set up, and you arent discovered yet, throw the seeker mine and then IMMEDIATELY launch the artillery shell into the crowd, that should give the seeker mines a very high chance of hitting. it works great for me.

I forgot about shock and awe entirely, I've been using the unicorn special with perfect combined arms (my grupos only have skill damage so far) Edit: I also prefer the explosive sticky over seekers since enemies don't really dodge that one

solo runs ill use the unicorn build ... in a team setting .. i use hardwire mortar/seeker combo based on team if we have a FI healer .. with all the damage boost on top of OC we get from the healer hardwire is just the better option if you wanna spam and do good damage overall

My vile mortar build : Vile mask 1 pc Golan SD Status 2pc Groupo SD Status 1pc China BP SD Status Creeping Death Chest is Perfect Glass Cannon SD Status Pandemonium and everyone dies pretty much instantly Forgot skills :: explosive seeker and mortar Also I switch to the emp sticky whence dogs / any Black Tusk are involved Jammer pulse as well and it still works well

I have looked into Status Mortar, the procs do not make up for the damage loss. I firmly beleive they are 100% not worth it. I do plan on covering this in a future video . . . .

@@DodRegnbue I don’t think I have even noticed a drop in my damage , I completed DUA on legendary with it in a group , so it is viable imho , but I’m curious to see where your numbers lie with the drop off . Cheers!

Yeah, but they're Scottish, if you grew up in Scotland, you'd be an unsober killing machine to. Seekers do a lot of damage cept chungas can stomp on them like turrets and they get lost outside of shotgun range.

Mine is Vile mask Named China backpack, repair mods Wyvene chest with kenetic momentum, repair skill mods Yellow contractor gloves, 2 yellow grupo Capacitor or any shotgun with DtA and Dtooc and in sync, dtooc could proc the Vile

Personally I don't use shock and awe. Tech support gives you slightly more dmaage. Sure, you need to get a kill to proc it but that's not exactly hard with a mortar build. I also don't use contractors. I use 3 piece empress instead for the extra status effect and skill haste. I might try swapping out one piece of empress for contractor's though and seeing if it makes much of a difference. I'm not sure it will tbh because I already use the capacitor. Everything is rolled for skill damage and status effect. I can one-shot elites on heroic, if the mortar doesn't kill them, the bleed will finish them off. I've not found skill haste to be that useful because the cooldown on the mortar turret is extremely low to begin with. I'm talking the difference being about 11 seconds with full status and skill haste mods, to 8 seconds with all skill haste rolls. Not worth bothering with IMO. I've seen my mortar hit for 10 million before. Thay was in a legendary though and I'm pretty sure I was being buffed by a healer. Usually it hits for something between 8 and 9 million.

I use Tech Support and 3 Empress also with 2 Grupo and a China Light with Skilled. Gonna try that unicorn one he showed tho.

​@saintanubis6177 maybe try glass cannon instead of skilled instead. Makes a huge difference to the amount of damage you do. I will probably try that unicorn one he showed as well. Getting the sacrifice to roll like that is going to be a bitch.

The 8% DTA from Contractors will out damage 3 Piece Empress in its entirety. You are effectively swapping 4% total damage, for an 8% amp.

@@geoffrogers7590 yes will try glass cannon. But I rarely play alone with Mortar builds so having random extra seekers is fun. If I wanna do lots of damage I'll jus go dps. Usually we got roles in our 4 man groups...1 skill, 1 foam n fire status, 2 dps... you know how it is I'm sure. Was mainly commenting on how we have similar mortar builds cause I didnt see anyone that runs Tech Support until yours...Cheers!

Bully. Yes and no, it is very difficult to keep the Shock from Elmo up constantly, especially after the changes they plan on making.

Have you considered TAG team on the chest for all high end build (except the last one). I find it works better than Perfectly Skilled on the chest.

Theres one things that Stresses me since Release… does explosive damage Bonusses effect handgranades? And does skill dmg calculate different than explosive damage on Skills?

I have have to double check, but I am pretty sure it is Skill Damage x Explosive Damage. I do not think Explosive damage directly effect your nades though. I will have to double check.

Is it really worth using Sacrifice and contractors in place of 3 piece Empress with GC? Effectively giving 20% skill dmg due to the skill efficiency, along with some status effects and more haste thrown in. 1 wyvern is 10% skill dmg 2 Hana u is 10% skill dmg With Sacrifice you literally are sacrificing a brand bonus for a bit more amp, same with contractors. Is the extra 5% amp on PGC and the 8% dta better than the 10% efficiency you’d get with 3 piece empress? I’ve not checked my numbers as working nights but I’m genuinely ready to be thoroughly and brutally informed. If 2 fingers aren’t enough, use 3 but I just ask if you’d mind taking your rings off first. Cheers Dod❤

This is mostly players choice, for me though, due to the slower damage rate and larger booms. Contractors and Yellow PGC are absolutely worth it. Despite 3 Piece Empress beiong best in Slot on the vast majority of skill builds, on a Mortar build, I would argue it is not even close to being "good". Just me though.

So, dug out my skill damage Sacrifice and Contractors. Wyvern mask,2 grupo and China named bag. Max skill dmg on all pieces. I hit for something like 6.1m but the numbers disappear to fast on PS4 to get an accurate read. I’m guessing Rise uses Capacitor max stacks to boost to over 9m? 6.1 x 1.6 is 9.76m

I threw together 3 piece empress (mask, chest GC, one other), china named BP, 2 piece all yellow grupo. Hits pretty well for a throw together. I’ll look to see what gloves I use and see what contractors I’ve got. Pretty sure I’ve got a yellow sacrifice on character (stash) number 2.

What about a Rigger build for the mortar turret, with backpack just cancel at one round and redeploy ?

I mean you can. But due to the calculations of Explosive Damage from Demolisionist, x 1 China, x 2 Grupo, in terms of damage, it is not even close.

Finally found the sacrifice I need with skill damage and skill haste. Now for the last piece I need(contractors gloves with skill damage) and I can finally do some solid damage. I had a feeling the sacrifice would make a massive difference but good to know for certain it was worth farming for

Is is sad that i have 2 yellow sacrifices? One with status and skill damage, and one with skill haste and skill damage. I've also found these for a friend, so 4 yellow sacrifices
