Can vouch, I got tired of mag dumping steel, told myself if I didn’t make the leap I never would, joined uspsa, shot my first match 2 weeks later. 2 matches under my belt now, & I’ll never be looking back. Best decision I have made & I can verify you will improve faster than training on your own. 🏴🏆

I wondered why there were 35,000 members out of 110 million gun owners. So I went to a match as an observer. I taped cardboard, stood the fallen metal targets back up, etc. No one shooting production. All pistol caliber carbines, carry optics, and race guns. It was not the friendly environment that many people speak of. For those that enjoy it, carry on.

TBH, I only watched for the code word for the extra entries (BTW I totally missed it the first time and barely caught it the second time 😆🤣). That being said, it has peaked my interest on something I've never considered doing before. Great video with a lot of great info. I'm definitely glad I watched it. Thanks guys, keep it up!

Another thing to note about PCC division: it's a fantastic way to increase your proficiency with the 5.56 AR. A lot of the skills learned competing at PCC translate directly to the more powerful rifle: manipulations, reloads, malfunction clearing, developing a natural index and consistent stock placement, sight tracking, shot calling, movement, all these can be honed in matches. Even recoil control is similar as a blowback 9mm AR actually has the potential to kick more than a well-gassed 5.56. Granted, there are rifle-specific skills like wind calling or distance estimation that won't be learned in USPSA, but overall, shooting PCC in matches will make you a better rifleman overall. Not to mention most folks you'll meet are great and it's just fun as hell

Great video, very informative. thank you so much. Are ports and compensators allowed in limited optics. Additionally, can you make a video that speaks to the fitness and mobility requirements of USPSA competition. What you showed looked quite doable for me, however some videos of competitions look much more intense than that.
@CompetitionChris10 ай бұрын
No ports or compensators in limited optics. As for mobility, basically what you see in this video. You're not going to be jogging 50 yards or anything crazy like that. Most stages last about 20 to 30 seconds.

Is there a round limit in Carry optics and i couldnt anything or i missed it in rule book about appendix carry I am looking for a more realistic shooting environment but be able to carry the mags i carry daily. I carry a p365x with 17round mags.. even though shooting at static ranges is fun but the ones around me restrict holster draw or have outrageous range fees just to train

I have looked at the rules, but it's not clear to me- Are mag wells allowed in the Limited Division? I use a VP9 with a Match Slide/Spring/Barrel and iron sights. Thanks for any help.

Why aren't flared mag well's permitted? I found a really nice XDM Elite OSP but it has a flared mag well. Darn it. I do have a Walther PDP with Red Dot - so I hope that will be ok. Does Carry Optics allow a weapon light to be attached on the bottom rail?
@modernwarriorsut7 ай бұрын
Flared magwells are permitted in some divisions, but each division will have its specific requirements. And yes, carry optics does allow you to use a light, but the light needs to be functioning.

What are the rules for upgraded triggers in production?
@robertthomas497 Жыл бұрын
One point I would like to correct about Revolver Division. The cylinder restriction you mentioned for major is wrong. It is allowed to use an 8 shot cylinder in major, BUT you can only fire 6 shots before having to reload. Thus you can use an 8 shot in major or minor. The hazard of using an 8 shot revolver in major is that if you fire more than 6 rounds before reloading, then you earn the prize of being moved to Open Division.

That is a great catch, thank you for the clarification.

So, not very knowledgeable in this but eager to get involved and learn. I currently have a Glock 23 (.40) with optics. Other than that, it is stock. It seems like shooting a .40 does not give me many options for divisions, my question is, would it be allowed to convert my Glock 23 frame to 9mm and still have a division to shoot in like carry optics?

I've got a g47 Ragnarök holster with thigh strap....when you were explaining production division it showed you wearing similar set up while shooting.... but I heard thigh strap is a no no in USPSA/ maybe its ok in that division?

Correct, during actual competition you cannot use the leg strap. We typically tie the strap up during comps, but for practice we use them since we have them for other purposes

the only thing keeping me from shooting in this is the stupid gear requirement. This is single handed the most moronic way to setup this sport. It should be like all other sports BASED off skill level of the shooter. I can show up against tiger woods with the best gear in the game and I will never have a chance of beating him. USPSA should re think their entire model and focus on shooters skill and class them based off of that. It would make the classes more competitive and closer. But this will Never happen because the moronic people running it.
@modernwarriorsutАй бұрын
Personally i can see both sides of the argument. In part, i completely understand the reasoning behind the different divisions as it keeps guys who have a way larger wallet and way more expensive equipment in a category all their own, while allowing others to compete in divisions that best suite the gear they have, which makes it more of a skill based event within each division. The other benefit to keeping it separated into divisions with gear requirements is it does weed out those who use their expensive gear as a crutch to hide their inability to shoot well, seeing as how they will compete agains other guys with similar gear they will need to have skill in order to stay relevant.
