divorce is not a sin, it is the remarriage.....this is dealt with.....if you do, divorce, remain unmarried or reconcile...

Remarriage while your original spouse is alive (if you were their original spouse) is adultery. Repentance requires STOPPING THE SIN and SINNING NO MORE - thus getting out of the adulterous remarriage. We would not say a homosexual marriage is okay if they continue to stay married, neither is an adulterous remarriage okay by staying in it. This is how God feels about divorce: "Yet you say, “For what reason?” Because the Lord has been witness Between you and the wife of your youth, With whom you have dealt treacherously; Yet she is your companion And your wife by covenant. But did He not make them one, Having a remnant of the Spirit? And why one? He seeks godly offspring. Therefore take heed to your spirit, And let none deal treacherously with the wife of his youth. “For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.” ' Malachi 2:14‭-‬16 NKJV Only the book of Matthew contains the "except for fornication" permission to divorce, as only the book of Matthew was specifically written for the Jews and the Jewish culture understood that this "fornication" meant sexual unfaithfulness in the betrothal/engagement period (not after the marriage was consummated by sexual union between the husband and wife). An example of this is shown where Joseph wanted to DIVORCE the mother of Jesus, Mary, before they had consummated their marriage as it appeared that she had been unfaithful as she was pregnant prior to having sex with Joseph. "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together (sexually), she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS." - Matthew 1:18‭-‬25 KJV (Jesus speaking) "It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication (the Greek word "porneia"), causeth her to commit adultery (the Greek word "moicheia") and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery." - Matthew 5:31‭-‬32 KJV (Jesus speaking) "I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery." - Matthew 19:9 KJV Note no fornication clause in the rest of the gospels, because it was specifically written to the gentiles which did not have the strict betrothal customs like the Jews: (Jesus speaking) "Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery." - Luke 16:18 KJV (Jesus speaking) "And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery." - Mark 10:11‭-‬12 KJV The ONLY permission for remarriage is the death of the original spouse: (Paul speaking) "For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man." - Romans 7:2‭-‬3 KJV Lastly, abandonment by a spouse does not allow remarriage to another. You must either reconcile or stay unmarried. (Paul speaking) "And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage (to perform the marital duties - this does not allow remarriage) in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?" - 1 Corinthians 7:10‭-‬16 KJV John the Baptist took the divorce and remarriage adultery so serious, that he lost his head over it via decapitation by Herod: But when Herod heard, he said, “This is John, whom I beheaded; he has been raised from the dead!” For Herod himself had sent and laid hold of John, and bound him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife; for he had married her. Because John had said to Herod, “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.” - Mark 6:16‭-‬18 NKJV Of all the laws in the Old Testament, Paul emphasized only four - and abstaining from sexual immorality (which is what remarriage is while your original spouse is alive) is one of them: (Paul speaking) "For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell." - Acts 15:28‭-‬29 NKJV Having children in an adulterous remarriage does not make it any less important to exit that adulterous remarriage as shown in Ezra 10 where they the people had to repent (stop being a part of) unlawful marriages, some of which resulted in offspring ("All these had taken pagan wives, and some of them had wives by whom they had children." Ezra 10:44 NKJV). 'Now therefore, let us make a covenant with our God to put away all these wives and those who have been born to them, according to the advice of my master and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law. Arise, for this matter is your responsibility. We also are with you. Be of good courage, and do it. ” Ezra 10:3‭-‬4 NKJV Staying in an adulterous remarriage can take you to hell: (Paul speaking) Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor ADULTERERS, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such WERE (note, they did not stay in their sinful acts as repentance requires STOPPING THE SIN) some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. - 1 Corinthians 6:9‭-‬11 KJV

Wow! I wish you could talk to my wife. I really thought that infidelity was the only way but now I know the truth. Marriage is forever and people really need to be taught what you just wrote about. Pastors are really weak in this area and it seems like they don't want to touch it, which is causing a lot of divorces in the church. God bless you and I thank the Lord for what you shared. It gave me so much strength.

In case it helps, here is what I have found out since: In Jeremiah 3 God is directly referring to Deuteronomy 24 - it is referring to God putting Israel, His wife, away. And he goes AGAINST Deut. 24 and tells her to come back to Him - even after she then "becomes another man's": 'They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the Lord .' Jeremiah 3:1 KJV In the SAME chapter, God gives her a bill of DIVORCE: "And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also." Jeremiah 3:8 KJV Still in the same chapter, AFTER God has given her a bill of divorce, He states that he is STILL married to her - the bill of divorce therefore did not nullify their marriage: "Turn, O backsliding children, saith the Lord ; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:" Jeremiah 3:14 KJV Jeremiah 3 shows that God is not following Deuteronomy 24's divorce law - because He does not have a hard heart. That law applied to the Israelites, who had hard hearts, under Moses' leadership. Jesus also says that this law in Deuteronomy 24 was given for those under Moses due to their hard hearts. He clearly says that He does not give us that permission - we are not to have hard hearts, but we are to forgive our husbands/wives and wait for them to repent and reconcile with them when they sin against us. "He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery." Matthew 19:8‭-‬9 KJV "Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. And when he had begun to settle accounts, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. But as he was not able to pay, his master commanded that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and that payment be made. The servant therefore fell down before him, saying, ‘Master, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion, released him, and forgave him the debt. “But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, ‘Pay me what you owe!’ So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, saying, ‘Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.’ And he would not, but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. When He puts us away or divorces us, He waits for us to repent and reconcile with Him. Praise God that His heart is not hard. Beg God to give you a heart of flesh to forgive your covenant husband/wife, 490 times (seventy times seven times), lest He not forgive you on Judgment Day for your trespasses against Him, which I assure you are much, much greater than 490. Divorce with adulterous remarriage is for the hard hearted. Woe to you if you are counted amongst the hard hearted on Judgment Day: "But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;" Romans 2:5 KJV A hard heart is evidence that the Spirit of God is not in that person: "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." @@Woman_in_the_Wilderness wow! I'm just so blessed by this. Oh how I wish my wife could hear this. She filed for divorce and we signed the papers but she said something inside of her told her not to sign the notary to make it official. People in the church are silent on this matter, including the elders. Divorce is running rampant in the church. I told my wife that I've repented from all my sins in our marriage and I know that divorce is wrong. This love my wife so much and God has blessed us with 3 beautiful children and a wonderful family. She has a friend in her life that is divorced and encouraging her to be divorced also. I'm praying that the Lord will send someone to be that person to intervene and break up that demonic relationship to show my wife the true ways of God concerning marriage and divorce. Again, thank you and keep us in prayer. You have truly blessed my soul.

@@rroller124 this is such a difficult thing, my brother in Christ. I have lost family members over this as they do not want to forsake their adulterous remarriages. We must draw nearer and nearer to our God - I do not think it will be much longer before Jesus returns and therefore there is no more time for unrepentant hearts.

I would like to correspond with you on this issue, and the problem w youtube is that sometimes notifications get missed. Please shoot me an email chris.chung.221@gmail.com. I have always believed that the innocent party is the only one allowed to remarry. Joe crews taught the same. So did his contemporary, Colin Standish. Anyway, recently, some generally theologically sound friends challenged me on the issue. I feel like Im either in the minority or potentially wrong. Studying it out patiently. Very few books touch on this in-depth. I have found just one from the 1950s and had to pay $49 for it. Would love to get ur input.

You can divorce but as long as your covenant spouse lives you cannot remarry God says its adultery.. Luke 16 18.. romans 7 2-3 mark 10 11-12 only death breaks the one flesh Covenant

Does this man ever admit to his own divorce and remarriage? It is so upsetting when someone who is so respected will not be honest with all of us! Mr. Batchelor is an excellent teacher and man of reputation. He has six children. Four with two previous women, three children with previous wife Karyn Wallace, One with a woman he had a relationship with in the cave and two with his now wife Karen. We all miss the mark. I just find it heartbreaking when someone I have respected will not own his own marital past.

It seems that of the billions of people on this planet, you are the only one with this information...and if this is so, then you are contradicting yourself...you claim that he isn't honest about his past divorce, yet he must have been honest with someone, because you know of it. Just saying.🙏🏿

2 years after my husband died, i remarried with a man who left his wife 10yrs ago for she attempted to murder him..some years later we came to learn about amazing fact pastor Doug presentation on Daniel and Revelation prophecy and we got baptized and joined the adventist church and lived for 20 plus years.. The women that he left almost 30yrs ago now claims that she is the first and legal wife.. Have i committed adultery? Can i leave this man? If i do our children will be affected by our separation and this man tells me that he can not go to a women who he left 30 yrs ago who doesn't even have the same faith as him.. Pastor Doug, i don't know how to decide on that... 🇵🇬

I am so sorry for your situation. I am not a pastor, but love the Lord God very much! You did not ask for my advice, but allow me to share a bit with you my sister. Stay with your husband. You and him married each other in good faith. Your husband is right, he cannot, and must not return to the first wife...the Bible speaks on this going back and forth, it is detestable to God. God has blessed your present union, you are both being obedient to God as best as you can. There is so much more I can share, but will keep this short. You and your husband are to honor your covenant you've made with God. Your union is blessed by God. There is no going backwards. ❤️🙏🏿

Well your husband is dead so you could remarry. But why did he leave his wife and did he divorced her for fornication. If he didn't have biblical grounds for him leaving his wife then it looks like he's committing adultery in your relationship is not scriptural

so few men of GOD left!!! remarriage is a sin all unrepentant sin will make you end up in hell no adulterer will enter the kingdom of God. Jesus said remarriage is adultery and the church preaches the opposite. God bless this man of God at least there some left and there a remnant still saved

Thank you for clearing this up for me. I really thought that you could divorce because of infidelity but now I know the truth. God divorced Israel but took them back. Same thing for Hosea. These are the examples of what you just wrote. God bless you but honestly, people are not going to accept this truth. If we would just accept this truth, marriages would last. We're so selfish.

Thank you so much Pastor for the clarification. I have a question and it really troubles me. The Bible gives guarantee to men to divorce their wives only if the woman commit fornication. How about women, if their husband commit fornication, are they also guaranteed to divorce their husband and be remarried? Please, I need your assistance. Thank you

Unless for marital unfaithfulness ( exception clause Matthew 5 & 19) you are bound to your spouse till death do you part. If you divorced for any other reason and remarried you are in adultery. Be not deceived 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Galatians 5:19-21 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. The word suggests separation but to rather be reconciled to your spouse and not for divorce ( 1 Corinthians 7 ) Adultery is one of the ten commandments written in stone by the finger of God #7 to be exact. Don't claim to keep the sabbath as being married or in debt to God's law but leave out not committing adultery. The pharisees made a big deal on the sabbath keeping , but were okay with divorce and getting a new piece of meat 🍖🥓.

sex, out of the marriage covenant is not fornication, it is adultery.....there is a term, for it...and also if adultery were an exception, then how does that relate to Mark and Luke, that gives no exception.....so this speaker may be close, but no cigar, for good teaching..

The divorce and remarriage for adultery doctrine is based solely on the supposed guilt of the wife in Matthew 5:32 and 19:9. However, the wife, in the above scriptures, is clearly not guilty of fornication because the Jews (that Jesus was speaking to) were still living under the law, and if fornication was discovered, there was a moral obligation to report the offender according to Deuteronomy 22:13-24. The wife, who would have been found guilty of fornication, was subsequently stoned to death, according to the law, which had still governed the Jews up until Christ's death on the cross. The same for a woman caught in adultery, according to Leviticus 20:10. How could a wife, guilty of fornication, or adultery, under the law of Moses, be given a writing of divorcement and be caused to commit adultery with whosoever marries her, that is divorced? Jesus is clear, in these examples, that the wife is not guilty of fornication, but is still caused to commit adultery if she marries another man now that she is divorced. This is the only way that Matthew 5:31-32, and Matthew 19:9 keep harmony with Romans 7:2-3, and 1 Corinthians 7:39. Unlike the synoptic gospels of Mark and Luke, which were written to evangelize the Gentiles, Matthew was written to the Jews, and has of 24 characteristics that identify it as intended for the house of Israel. The ancient Jews called the betrothed (engaged) "husband" and "wife" according to Deuteronomy 22:23-24, Matthew 1:18-25, and Luke 2:5-7. Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (Moses's precept of divorce and remarriage) was never for fornication or adultery. Allowing those guilty of fornication and adultery to remain living and become a prospect for remarriage was against the law of Moses in Deuteronomy 22:13-24 and Leviticus 20:10, which commanded that those who were found guilty of fornication and adultery be put away from Israel, and stoned to death. The law of Moses was not given to the world, only to the Jews. From the exodus, to Christ's death on the cross, the law of Moses governed the Jewish people. Christ's death on the cross caused the Jews to become dead to the law of Moses, so they could be joined to Christ under a New Covenant. This is what Jesus's fulfillment of the law of Moses, including Deuteronomy 24:1-4 (Moses's precept of divorce and remarriage), means. Paul gave several warnings to Christian believers against keeping the ordinances of law of Moses as justification, over following Christ and his commands under the New Covenant with Christ. Keeping the ordinances of the law is no longer possible, for Israel, and that is why Christ prophesied that the temple would be destroyed. These scriptures make it clear that if you choose the law over Christ, that you must keep the whole law: Romans 7:4, Galatians 3:1-9, Galatians 3:10-29, Galatians 4:1-7, Galatians 4:21-31, and Galatians 5:1-15. Being unequally yoked to unbelievers is not a cause for divorce, once two become one-flesh in a covenant of marriage, according to 1 Corinthians 7:12-14. Many one-flesh covenant marriages between unbelievers are recognized by God in the scriptures, most notably the marriage covenants between Herodias and King Herod's brother Philip, Potiphar and his wife, Ahab and Jezebel, and Ruth to her deceased husband Mahlon by Boaz when he took her to be his wife. Some are teaching that 1 Corinthians 7:15 implies that those who are abandoned, by an unbelieving spouse, are "no longer bound" in a one-flesh covenant of marriage. The reason this is in conflict is due to the way some translations word it, which gives it an entirely different meaning, and context. 1 Corinthians 7:15, says, "But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace." As you can see, the actual scripture says "not enslaved" which means that the husband or wife is not enslaved to sin with the unbelieving spouse, and is free to worship Christ in peace. Subsequent translations have changed the words to imply that they nullify the marriage covenant, which is not at all the case. The issue that this creates is with 1 Corinthians 7:10-11, which says, "10To the married I give this command (not I, but the Lord): A wife must not separate from her husband. 11But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife." As you can see, those who claim 1 Corinthians 7:15 shows the Apostle Paul giving those who are abandoned permission to remarry, do not understand the command that Christ gives is to an abandoned husband, in 1 Corinthians 7:11, and that he "must not divorce" his wife, and his wife is commanded to "remain unmarried or else be reconciled" to her husband. The theory that 1 Corinthians 7:15 nullifies two as being one-flesh, due to one's unbelief, puts the Apostle Paul directly at odds with Christ, and himself, by implying that Paul has issued an opposing command to verses 10-14 in verse 15. Some also teach that 1 Corinthians 7:27-28 is referring to both divorced men and virgin women, and not exclusively to men and women (virgins) who have never been married. This has been falsely taught for some time in churches as referring to anyone who is not currently in a marriage, which, for them, also includes those who are divorced. This is a very false assumption, and puts these verses in a different context, that is at odds with both the teachings of Christ and the apostle Paul. We see Paul refer to virgins, which signifies the unmarried who have never before been wed, which is the proper context here. We see Paul saying clearly that it is good for virgins, which is also speaking to never before wed men here, "that it is good for a man so to be." He goes on to say, "Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife." Who is he referring to here? Men who, like himself, have never married. The word "bound", in these verses, is a clear reference to betrothal (engagement) and not to a one-flesh covenant of marriage. The ancient Jews were considered bound as husband and wife during the betrothal (espousal/engagement) before becoming one-flesh in a covenant of marriage, through consummation. This is affirmed by the context of the term "bound" seen in Numbers 30:14-16. The Jewish couples in ancient Israel, who were betrothed (engaged) were also bound together until death, either by execution for fornication, or by other causes. Then Paul says, "But and if thou marry, thou has not sinned", which is who? The men who had never married in the congregation at Corinth. So he begins with verses 25-26 speaking exclusively to men that have never married. Paul then says, "and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned", which is speaking directly in regard to virgin women who have never been married, within the congregation, not divorced women. Notice that verse 34 says, "There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband." Paul speaks plainly when he says "there is a difference between a wife and a virgin." Paul goes on to say, "But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry." This is speaking of a virgin who has become of age to bear children when it says, "let them marry." This is a clear command, to a single man, who has taken a virgin to be his wife. Paul then says, "Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well." This is referring again to the single man who decides it is better not to marry, but to stay betrothed (engaged), under the present distress, by saying that he "hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin." Paul then says, "So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better", which again means single men, in the congregation, who have betrothed a wife, do well if they marry, and those who choose not to marry their virgin brides do better, under the current climate. For more proper context of the word "bound", let's look further down in this chapter to verse 39, which says, "39The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord" (1 Corinthians 7:39). For so long, these scriptures, between verses 25-38, have been twisted and used to enable divorce and remarriage, by wayward churches and teachers, and have caused many to stumble and to be trapped in unscriptural unions. The use of the woman at the well, in regard to marriage, falsely implies that Christ was endorsing remarriage after a divorce. This teaching is in defiance of Matthew 22:23-28, which shows a woman who had been widowed seven times, and entered into each subsequent marriage without any scriptural conflicts with God's law of marriage (one-flesh covenant) seen in Genesis 2:23-24. Mark 10:1-12 and Matthew 19:1-12 both record Christ's teaching that day beyond the Jordan. There is no mention of the words "fornication", "writing of divorcement", or "divorced" in Mark's Gospel because Mark was not written to the Jews (as Matthew's Gospel was), but to evangelize the Romans, and likewise Luke to evangelize the Greeks, who had no knowledge of the law of Moses in Deuteronomy 22 or Deuteronomy 24. All of these facts draw a clear understanding that remarriage after a divorce, under the New Covenant with Christ, is a scripturally false and baseless teaching. Please use wisdom when living in any situation against what the scriptures command.

The Bible is very clear explaination. Jesus said, Divorce is not allowed except for marital unfaithfulness but even not accept from the beginning but because of the hardened of the heart Moses allowed it.

@@truegreaterlightproductions777 there are no scriptures that show Jesus listing adultery as either a cause for divorce and remarriage, or as permission for divorce and remarriage, only that adultery is the result of marriage after divorce.

A virgin of Israel was called a wife while she was betrothed (engaged), but she could only commit fornication before her wedding night, that is why she is caused to commit adultery (as a married woman) after she becomes divorced. Joseph was instructed to take Mary "as your wife", but it is well understood that she was to give birth as a virgin, and a virgin of Israel was not considered to be one-flesh, in a covenant of marriage, until after the wedding night. There are liberties being taken with the term "sexual immorality" in an attempt to make the terms "fornication" and "adultery" the same offense, however, these are clearly two separate offenses that occur at different states, fornication being committed by those who have either yet to marry (single) or who have been widowed, and adultery only being committed by those who are currently married or who have been divorced. Anyone who has become widowed from their one-flesh covenant spouse is free to marry another who has either never before married or who has also been widowed, however, those who are divorced are caused to commit adultery according to Jesus.

@@ajlouviere202 If couple are cheating or one cheating during marriage is the one commit adultery and whoever commit adultery in marriage cant re-marry, if she or he re-marry the one accept them will commit adultery as well. And the one who didn't commit adultery or cheat can marry that's what the Jesus said. But He said that's not allowed from the beginning.
