Would guess specific questions are deliberate to mentally focus the person to have an emotional response that can assessed. But guessing. By how people respond, they don't get asked just the 2 or 3 questions they air, but many, and these gotcha questions get mixed in. To your point, "trying" is interpretable, the person might not see their active online dating account as trying to cheat because to them it isn't, only had they gone on a date that does include sex, to them, would that be "trying" to, and even then, that's more like fate, since they weren't looking to cheat, the other messaged them and initiated and really, they just went along with it and it happened but like "trying to?" No, no, it just happened to happen. Some people are accountable to their intent, true enough, but a great amount see themselves as some passive victim to these darn circumstances, they hadn't intended anything, "it just happened." But yeah, to the brazen who do actively attempt to cheat, did they just try and fail?
