They look amazing. About how much in material cost would you say?

Thanks!! It was definitely under $100. I can’t remember exactly. I’ll have to keep a total for the next diy I do. Sorry!

I would say about $50

Hey Mark Builds absolutely love the gate I'm going to build one today for my dogs and soon to be baby. What kind of wood was that and what size?

It’s 1x3 poplar for the frame and 1x2 for the center portion! Good luck!! Be careful of the order you put it together in, I had trouble screwing some of the angles in because the drill didn’t fit in the space. I think with a little foresight I could have avoided that.

Hello :) good video! Is something like this possible in a hallway with regular flat walls? My hallway is basic just two walls. No framing in it like yours does.

Definitely! You just need to find the studs! It wouldn’t hold up to a dog jumping on it for long if you don’t. Mounting the latch would have to be different. I think I’ve seen people attach a single board to the wall to give the latch somewhere to mount.

Along with the pocket screws, I would use some wood glue as well so it eventually doesn’t loosen up

So far, the only problem with it is where the puppy chewed it, but I use a lot more wood glue now then at that time. Thanks for the comment

I would build it with self closing hinges

Definitely a great idea! We prefer to leave it open unless we need to use it

Looks awesome! But how can I explain to my wife that I need a Festool Domino to build this when you built it with pocket screws??? 😂
