Thanks for the video. I am making a trunion similar to this. Is there a place. Where I could access your documents on this project? Cad files and part numbers. I am not sure what bearings to use for the A axis. I will be using a 45 size harmonic drive for the A and a 40 size harmonic actuator for the C axis. Direct drive for both. Thanks

hey mate thanks for sharing, your spindle have a port that blows air down to the tool holder. not the one inside the cone. there are 6 screws where the flat spot is. Where is stuck the indruder. Also this 6 screw are connected to a port on the big diameter right up. Mine have it anyway and I have the bt30 as well. check it out.
@Svanitterzon3 жыл бұрын
I need to check it then. I never found this port while i really would like to have it😬

@Cretan-un6ul3 жыл бұрын
@@Svanitterzon you must make up something for this. You get chips going on soon or later. Make a ring mounted on the spindle. blowing a little more air inwards. mine uses low air pointed exactly. so..

You know how much I wish you did such videos for the mill build, right?! 😉 So, you know how great it is to share this build like this ❤️🙏 Footage is absolutely OK 👍 Design is very nice and, if I'm not fond of belts, I believe you could change my mind... 3 questions on the machining side: Do you really need to peck with the drill? Why adaptive strategy instead of contour or bore ones for counterboring? Can't you take full depth roughing cuts on the sides? Thanks again for taking the time and energy to share this with us. So inspiring, as always...
@Svanitterzon3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! About the machining I'm still in my comfort zone and afraid to take a real bite. There must be a day coming that i just need to try and plow an endmill tough material and see how hard i can go. Same for the counter bore. The adaptive is the most reliable operation which almost never goes wrong.

@@Svanitterzon reduce your WoC to 3% tool dia with full DoC and crank up your feeds and speeds. Then increase WoC slowly until you get the good feeling... You won't regret it. Seeing your machine running into mater joyfully should be a satisfaction like no other, plus, you'll increase your MRR and tool life! High Speed Machining FTW my friend 👌👍

@PWLopes90003 жыл бұрын
Good job, looking forward to see the next parts and most of all how it behaves in practice with the belts, etc. what bugs me the most with the 5 axis is the work to set it up and take it out. Been thinking all along of using shunk or other zero point clamp to make it easier. I have even considered just a d1-4 cam plate. The other issue is fusion limitations. But I saw you have the education license?
@PWLopes90003 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah forgot to mention that you could use a programmable coolant nozzle, I certainly need one and am building a small series of them.
@Svanitterzon3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, i gone try to keep the trunnion on the table all the time and give it a g55 or so. Since eding doesnt support tcp i need to set my zero point at the axis and the rest need to come from the cam software. I want to make my own dovetail clamp once thats all setup good i assume it will be easier in the future. Yes i have an education licence but i think i all need is the 3+2 funtion that would be already more then enough to start with. I have been looking at programmable nozzle before. Sounds like a fun project to do later on.
