I love this design and how you laid out the pattern. More techinical skills of sewing will come with time. Ive been sewing 56 years but bags are new to me. Id also not glue but do understand not all machines can sew PU fabric. I have 11 vintage and a 1933 industrial given to me free im still getting used to. I just got a ton of jeans. Im going to make this style. And ive not yet made videos so great for you on well done instructions!

I was just thinking the exact same thing! I was loving this tutorial til the hot glue came out...I feel like I've been lied to and it was all a big scam lol no but seriously like WTF she took the time to meticulously iron interfacing and sew zippers and a liner, even hand sewed the pockets, but when it came to the straps and handle (which bare all the weight ) she HOT GLUES them on?! I'm not sure why this bothers me so much but I just can't wrap my head around it.

@@danielleoatway7717 she's probably a glue lover and is addicted to glueing things, but the sad thing is that; even though, she gets told about it, she won't change it. All you can do is copy the measurements and do a better job, without the hot glue.

There is a shoe repair shop in our local mall that will sew straps on a bag for a small charge. Great when doing denim and leather.

Why not sew all of the straps and buckles on before you sew the fabric pieces together? The glue just takes away from all the hard work you put in. That bag won’t last very long and it won’t stand up to carrying heavy items.

I'd love to see a pic of your back pack. Im actually making one each for both my daughters (aged 12yrs and 10yrs) but I am very curious what the end result would look like using different material. The girls and I are going to take a trip to our local fabric store this coming weekend so they can pick out fabric for their backpacks. It will be interesting to see which fabric they each choose considering they have very different personalities. Thank you for sharing.

looks like a nice design for my niece but sew and any double material in straps in certain materials like faux leather or thing leather is a must, silicone glue is not good idea for fixing items that need to hang, bounce or open and close constantly... My advice: NO GLUE! SEW IT!
