Shelf life is about 6mths to a yr depending on proper storage. You usually go with the lowest shelf life of the oil which is rosehip oil and it’s shelf life is about 6 mths to a yr

@@LovelyBryana With all due respect this is false you added water so it NEEDS a preservative. The shelf life is more like a week in the fridge maybe. If it was a full oil based product then you can go from the lowest shelf life.

Danielle Anderson the brand isn’t really that important, I just use virgin olive oil, vitamin e oil and 10 drops of lavender essential oil

1Cut 18oz or african black soap in cubes 2Add 8 cups of water to a boil 3Mix in 4Cut fire off while soap is in 5pour in a different container 6cool for 3-4 hours 7add 1 tps of vegetable glycerin 8add 1 tps of rose hip oil 9add tsp frankincense oil 10. 1 tsp of hylacrysm oil 11half tsp vitiman E oil 12keep in containers

I know this was a while ago but, does this face wash just work for dry skin ? Or can it be used on all skin types ?

Black soap is good for all skin types, she just added stuff more for dry skin. If you have oily skin or acne I’d recommend adding things like Jojoba oil that are more light weight. You can also just use straight up black soap and water it works just as well

There isn’t a preservative used here so I don’t see how it would last 6+ months even if you stored it in the fridge. Does anybody know what preservative would work best with this recipe? If so how which one, how much should be used and when should it be added? I’d greatly appreciate it.

What would you recommend as a moisturizer after using this? I have used Shea Butter after using black soap and it feels amazing, but it’s kinda greasy.

johanne abraham I use shea butter. apply a small amount on damp skin. it absorbs better and as long as you didn't use a lot, it shouldn't look greasy. shea has been amazing for my acne scars. you could try avocado oil or jojoba...they're lighter

Aloe Vera gel, vitamin E oil, jojoba oil, and frankincense oil. That’s what I use since I have oily skin it make an awesome moisturizer.

Try hemp seed oil. It’s been said to be the best for your skin but only thing is it has to be kept in the fridge. It has worked very well for me

I add a natural preservative. Without a preservative it will not last long even in the fridge since water has been introduced

@@keishonnabarrett7253 Sorry, I’m just seeing this comment. You use the amount for whichever preservative you choose. There should be a recommendation sheet that comes with it to tell you how much or what percentage to use that’ll preserve your product.

Vitamin E oil isn’t a preservative. If you want to preserve this use liquid germall plus after your mixture cools down

I’m guessing so. Honestly I think it’s a lot of work to make this concoction when you can just buy a gentle cleanser. I don’t know any for sensitive and dry skin but check out Hyram he can give you recommendations.

Wendy Romano I'm only guessing but maybe eliminate the water. Melt down the soap in a double boiler. Add the ingredients. Then pour them into soap molds to cool

Unsure what the difference is for vegetable glycerin but regular glycerin is good for hydrating the skin! Perfect ingredient for moisturizer.

Vitamin C if I’m not mistaken can brighten the skin but I’m unsure. Personally Niacinimide is excellent for dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

It seems you have combination skin. I’d recommend to use a gentle cleanser something like the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

You can add it! Tea tree oil is a good antibacterial, and it feels cool on your face. You could probably add quite a few drops (like at least 15) to this recipe. It's well known for its acne curing awesomeness!!
