Great video....I just want to say that I am always shocked at how rude people can be. Someone takes the time to share a video and then the people sitting on their butts at home start to tell the person who made the video, all the things that they did wrong or all the things that they should have done. If you think you can do a better video, please feel free to do so and then give us the link so we can go to your video and tell you what you did wrong. To the "Crochet Crowd, THANK YOU for sharing this. It really is helping us understand how to redo our hideous ceiling for a reasonable price.

ja ja. yes. a guy told me on local floor store (not big store) and the have some bad material (wood flooring) and he pays $1 long ft. because the good was bad for flooring. . but perfect for ceiling or wall.. job.

Imagine being able to afford this ceiling in 2021! A single 1x4x8 T&G plank at Rona (in Canada) costs $10!!!!!!!!!! 😵
@TheCrochetCrowd3 жыл бұрын
Isn't the wood pricing disgusting eh! 1 sheet of plywood is $90 Canadian Bucks! (I am Canadian). It has stalled some projects we wanted to do. I refused to pay that price.

awesome video. how does one go about staggering the paneling? also as joeCnNd asked do you use more/less coats for different color effect?

Crap guys awesome idea but incomplete video. Awesome idea I'm standing and using the silver nails. Think I will do that in my bedroom. But I also would have liked to know how you dealt with expand and contraction. What is the gap width between boards ?

Can you tell me what size would you used?? It looks like 1/4" × 2'. Is that correct? We are going to do our second living room that it pretty small.

I got 450 square feet basement... Need help finding really really cheap wood plank lol. Where do you get your wood from?
@curvybeauty248 жыл бұрын
We are in the process of doing ours in part of our new house. We got ours at Lowe's. www.lowes.com/pd/EverTrue-3-5625-in-x-8-ft-Edge-and-Center-Bead-Gold-Pine-Wood-Wall-Panel/3056259 - I think this is the one we used, but a word of caution - buy extra with plans to take some back. We had a lot of boards that were not usable because the tongue part of the tongue and groove was broken.

+Carrie Beth thanks for the hint. I live 2 miles from a home depot so going back and forth is the norm for me. anyway is that cottage grade in your link, looks different from his.
@illmatic338 жыл бұрын
+Carrie Beth also that's very expensive. his was under $1 per square feet.
@curvybeauty248 жыл бұрын
+Don Powell the specs on lowes.com aren't accurate. It comes several boards per pack. I can't remember exactly how many, if I were to guess, I'd say 8-10. I also used coupons or our military discount and discount gift cards to lessen the cost. I'm not sure what you mean by cottage grade.
@illmatic338 жыл бұрын
+Carrie Beth it's what the video description says. I guess less quality wood...

So...we were going to do this but upon reading up it says you have to have drywall between the floors for fire code - can someone tell me why he doesn't need to do that? Hoping I missed something and we can do this!!

Ya no need for code if there's no inspecter around

Faux also indicates that a layer or covering is being applied to give the appearance of the more solid or genuine article. Faux means fake out or wont measure up under close inspection. .

What happens if/when you get a leak? Did you install hidden access panels or simply rip it down?
@alterlab21917 жыл бұрын
what good would an access panel do for a leak? you'd have to rip the whole thing down anyway.
