DIY ART JOURNAL [NO SEW]: step-by-step beginner tutorial

Learn how to make an easy DIY art journal without any sewing or stitching in this step-by-step beginner tutorial. I really wanted to make my own art journal as I lately feel like experimenting more with different paints and mixed media, maybe doing some collages as well. Just a tip..wet the middle before you make the crease ...this will leesen the damage you do when folding and it really makes a nice crisp creàse

Interesting idea if you don’t have access to needle and thread, but I’m pretty sure a three hole pamphlet stich binding is easier and cleaner, especially since you are creating a cover anyway.

Thank you for your comment 😊 I agree that pamphlet stitch is very nice. However, I think it works the best with thin paper. As I like painting with watercolors and other wet media, my paper is usually 200gsm+ and if I use pamphlet stitch, I would need to cut off the edges of the sheet which I am not a very big fan of, so I thought it would be a decent alternative 😊

You are welcome! I am happy you found it useful 😊 I used a simple hobby type colored paper, the one they usually sell for kids in a pack. I just didn’t want to waste a better quality paper for the pets that would be glued. Generally you can use anything you want, whether it is a usual printer paper or some fancy design paper, should work in any case 😊😊😊

You could use clear glue and it wouldn't show, but I like the washi tape too
