That’s extruded plexiglass the cheap type. Cast acrylic is harder and for that reason it will polish better. Extruded acrylic has a blue cast and doesn’t polish well.

It needs all the Nice it can have installed! Rectangular rounded edges would look Very Nice in my opinion! Yet it's Your Car cheap it out All the way, Add some of that Fancy Rubber Chrome in several areas to enhance the Bling Factor. That was such a Nice stock Piece just like it was, Guess you aren't satisfied until you Go Chadinator on your Stuff! He has a vision, he has an idea, but he is limited by not knowing how to use the English wheel. This leads to a lack of curves and shapes, the only curves are from existing parts that he uses wisely. He knows how to overcome his flaws. His mostly completed projects are those when he had a team by his side. Sometimes he's funny when ignorance surfaces. they have special drills for acrylic also, you can use regular drills but be careful and go slow because when the drill breaks through it pull the bit in faster and will break it... the special drills are sharpened on a different angle

5mm foam would stretch easier in one piece . white canvas hard to keep clean ,pvc would be ok.but modern .

Put a hair dryer in your tool box for stuff like this..hair dryer would have worked for peeling paper off the glass

Using what you got and doing it the cheap way is not always the right thing to do especially when it's an original 34 Ford that deserves to have a real piece of glass installed.

I think you should consider paint repairs on the trunk. That’s peeling paint not patina. A small piece of glass really would be better than plexiglass for that rear window. Much easier to keep clean.

Use a dry soft cloth not a paper towel on the window your not that bright
