I just made this myself and honestly, it was so friggin e-z! All together, I spent $25.96 at my local Home Depot and one of the employees was more than happy to help me cut the pvc. if I had to cut it, I would have needed a ratchet, a tape measure and a marker to mark the measurement intervals on the pvc. I'm using these for a backdrop to be used during a panel discussion. For real. His instructions are super simple. I listened twice: once for the supply list and a second time for the instructions. If you need a cheap alternative to a $200 pipe and drape system, give this a try! Thanks for the great tutorial👍👍👍

People... I'm not trying to hate on the video, I'm here simply to help others. Some people in the comments noted that their bill came up to $25. Some said $50-$80, depending on the region. *There are inexpensive photography backdrops that can achieve this for about the same price.* And you don't need to go and shop for pipes and work with all these small parts. The backdrops come with a nice carrying case. You can easily take them apart for portability with far fewer pieces than what was used in this project. And the stands will look much more professional than pipes. The stands are also more stable than this design. If someone steps onto the fabric or a tipsy person staggers into it, it will come down easier than the dedicated stands because they have wider bases than these. You can also use sand bags with either design. Good luck.

@963purple6 жыл бұрын
Hi, my name is Rhonda. I just viewed your video on constructing a PVC backdrop. That is exactly what I need. However, could you tell me if I wanted to make mine 6.5 ft to 7.0 ft tall, and kept your other dimension for the other pieces,, do you think it would hold up OK. or should I make adjustments to any other of the pieces to accommodate it? Also I noticed in your video you said the width was about 8ft, but I figure with your (2) 3 ft sections plus (2) 2 ft. sections it would come out to 10 ft. I don't understand that part. I need to make this by tomorrow, so if you can find time to reply, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much in advance!
@TechnicallySpeaking6 жыл бұрын
It should hold up ok, but you could always add more supports if you wanted. Like another vertical tower or thicker PVC

im kinda curious... what shop do you buy your materials from? Even if you're in the USA - which I assume you are located.... $25 is not even close to cost of building this. (Hypothetically speaking, the difference in the dollar US/CA. is less than 100%) my cost here in Canada btw, would be at least!!! - $80.00 thanks for the great "How to" video anyways!!! :)
@willparsons328 жыл бұрын
WOW!! We Canadians sure pay a hefty price here... Honestly, After calling the Home Depot here where I live, they told me: 1) they don't carry the 1" stuff and; 2) before taxes the order (55 feet of tubing + fittings) came out to 83ish dollars - that's before taxes here! Makes it hard here to do simple projects when they see yea coming through the door - sorta speak! (Thanks for your reply btw!) :)
