I was able to see Scotts pond through a garden pond forum, that we both are in. Along with his written details of how it all came together. It is so beautiful. I think it is the most natural looking water feature I have ever seen. His edge work is phenomenal. You have better chance at winning powerball, than being able to tell where the liner's edges are. I also live in Connecticut, had a water feature spark go off, discovered Aquascape , watched a ton of their videos, and learned how to build my own pond. Scott's given me some valuable tips too, through the forum. And, if in 6 years if I can have 1/10th of the beautiful water feature Scott has, I would eternally be pleased!! I hope to see it in person one day this upcoming summer season. Derek Drezek. Suffield, Ct.

Scott, yes. I am up near Springfield, Ma. I'm in Suffield, CT. I border The Massachusetts line. I originally posted on the forum a question on whether or not I needed a wetland filter for my pond set up. Then, the conversation kinda went off onto other topics. With some of the other members in the group. I'm Derek Drezek. Same name as I use in the GPF group. You trully do have a beautiful feature there. Been fairly mild winter so far. Your tropical Lillys, just may make it into a third year!! I did steal an idea of yours,... I planted a weeping red bud next to my pond. I think yours looks nice. I did that back around the time, Greg had posted about your pond on Facebook. Hope your New Year is off to a great start Scott. Derek.

Great job, Scott! I heard you are coming to the Academy in February. I am excited to see where this takes you. I've done construction, welding/Fab, automotive, and industrial painting, as well as being a Registered Nurse, and this has been by far the best career move of my life. I just finished my first building season and couldn't be happier with my career change. The Aquascape Tribe is Amazing. I encourage you to attend as many training and regional builds as possible and dive in head first. Good luck, and again, great job!

Such a beautiful pond, a well deserved award. I along with many other viewers also watch all the videos for inspiration to planning and building a diy pond, although mine will be a low budget aquascape inspired pond - hey, we aint all rich!

@@ScottJanko I know what you mean, amazing stress reliever, but unfortunately the partner still needs a holiday - the British weather is not enough for a South African, so we still have the need to go abroad every year - not quite as big a financial outlay as you suggested, but still around 3-4k, add to that i had to leave my job due to health reasons means everything is on a budget now, but this doesn't mean we cant have nice things, we just have to achieve them in more ingenious budget friendly ways. As long as you spend where it needs to be spent on the pond - such as high quality liner and underlay, it doesn't need to have stacked slate or spillway bowls or expensive pumps, I'm all for upcycling old bowls and Vases to achieve a similar look, marketplace purchases, drainage piping and crates etc. Anyway, your pond is amazing and far better than a lot of "professional" installations i have seen. Do you ever swim in there? i know i would get the snorkel on👍
