Great video! 👏 I really enjoyed watching the DIY barrel pontoon boat part 1. It would be awesome to see a follow-up or update video. I'm curious if there are any new improvements or changes. Looking forward to more content! Keep up the fantastic work! 🚤🔧

Excellent build although I think you need to get a motor controller that can pull from both battery and solar Maybe a vawt turbine I plan to make a similar boat but I'm going with 3 hulls. 2 hulls like yours but bit further apart then a central hull that's half a foot deeper into the water than the other 2 to help add stability. Probably will either use plywood and fibregass to make walls or use bedsheets/blankets and coat them with LineX. Make a little cockpit/sleeping area. I've got two 200w flexi panels for the roof and will definitely look at vawt turbine options

UV rotted the ropes off my 7’ x 14’ raft with 10/ 30 gal. drums in 3 years. Next time I’d use galvanized pallet strapping. Our drums don’t have a groove at the bottom to locate (house v.)the ties.

Lucky you. No groves makes it more hydrodynamic. These plastic ropes are being used everywhere here on Sumatra. UV will kill them but I am sure I get minimum 6 years out of it.

What sort of motor did you use? (How much power does it have?)

Brushless trolling motor. 600W (on12V) and 1200W on 24V.
