I want to add that if you have trouble getting citric acid (maybe you're 16 and you don't have a credit card to use online) cream of tartar works too! It's a little bit pricier because you will need more, due to the fact that it's weaker than citric acid, but it works just as well. Cream of tartar is usually found in the baking isle or near the spices in a supermarket.

These would make wonderful gifts! Thank you for sharing the resources links, Robert. It's usually hard for me to find supplies here for most projects I find myself interested in making, so I get excited when a website that provides international shipping is linked to or suggested. Thanks again ^_^

You did an amazing job! I have been looking for this recipe all day. All the other recipes I kept looking at called for water and that was confusing me. Thank you I can't wait to do this recipe with my Seniors.

These are wonderful, but a word of caution! Some witch hazel mixes have an odor that may not mix well with your oils, so check the scent of your oil and the witch hazel to see if it clashes! From my experience, camomile smelled like sweaty feet once I put the witch hazel in with it. Also, I used any left over powder and packed them down in some of the decorative silicone molds used for cake/candy making and let them dry. Once they were dry, I took a small dab of washable glue (like Elmer's glue) and dotted the top of my large bath fizz and put the little flowers/stars/swirls on top and let them dry together for the last day. It isn't much more work, but it makes them look that much more special. Also, the tiny dot of glue doesn't seem to affect the fizz part and since it is washable, it just dissolves with the rest of the fizz.

They are still drying but they have no scent now :/ i am having the same issues with body balms and butters. The oils I am using are NOT cheap so it cant be that

Where can I get the amounts used of ingredients?
@giigii13139 жыл бұрын
It's a 2:1 ratio of baking soda to citric acid. As for colorant and essential oil or soap fragrance, bramble berry has a calculator for that or you can just experiment. Witch hazel is used in an "as needed" basis meaning there's no set amount to use. Completely depends on the environment you're in. For example: if you live in a humid climate, you may not need much witch hazel. If you live in an arid climate, you'll probably need more. You want the consistency of your mix to be just short of wet sand. Hope this helps.

I'd add some oatmeal to your bath bomb mix. That's very soothing to sensitive skin. You may also want to add just a little bit of oil like jojoba or vitamin E as well...just not too much
Just made some today and they are growing like when you make bread u know.. It's really weird, one just went off the mold.. :( maybe it was too wet ?
